It's a tough one but I'll wager that the first journalist squats to piss...

GR,

If you refer to the writer of the first article as a "journalist", then Halil should be called executive editor or editor-in-chief.!

I see you have developed the yankee doodle tendencies. I was wandering where the smell was coming from every time you posted something! So you are in the habit of kicking poo. When did it begin and Why?
The two articles cannot be compared.
Second one is about the ongoing negotiations whereas the first one just confirms how relevant Hellenism is in today’s world. It’s actually written in code and only those with Turkish tendencies can appreciate such reporting.
What's happened to you?

The question you should be asking is will this yankee democrat apologise for what they put Cyprus through in the last 50 or so years? coupled with will he put his hand in his pocket and pull out not his dick but a cheque to an approx value of 20 billion pounds or should I say Euros but than again as TRNC is not in EU perhaps pounds would be better or even YTL towards the solution of the problem.

Anything else mentioned in either reports are total crap.

Reporting from Yfred News Agency.

Senator to visit Ankara, Cyprus on special tour

Turkey, Ankara, Feb. 17/ Trend News A. Aleskerov/

U.S. Senator Richard Durbin will visit the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Greece and Turkey as part of a special tour.

During the trip, he will become familiar with the positions of both sides regarding the conflict.

Durbin will visit Ankara to discuss the Cyprus issue on Feb. 18. He will be met by Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Durbin recently met with President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mehmet Ali Talat, the Milliyet daily newspaper reported.

He will visit Greece on Feb. 17.

US senator offers help in Cyprus peace talks
The Associated PressPublished: February 17, 2009

NICOSIA, Cyprus: A U.S. senator made an unofficial offer Tuesday to help the leaders of Cyprus' rival communities in peace talks to reunify the divided island.

Sen. Richard Durbin said he has offered assistance to President Dimitris Christofias, a Greek Cypriot, and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat. He did not elaborate.

"We don't have a specific offer. I mean, what we said was we're available to help. And again, it is for both sides to decide what that help might be," the Illinois Democrat told The Associated Press after talks with Christofias.

Durbin, who will travel on to Greece and Turkey this week, said his three-day Cyprus visit is not as an official representative of President Barack Obama.

But he added he will convey to both the U.S. president and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton the message that the peace talks are "an opportunity in history that we shouldn't miss."

"We should do everything we can if we're asked or called on to make this work," he said.

Cyprus was split into a breakaway Turkish Cypriot north and an internationally-recognized Greek Cypriot south in 1974 when Turkey invaded in response to a coup by supporters of union with Greece.

Cyprus joined the European Union in 2004, but only Greek Cypriots enjoy the bloc's benefits.

Numerous U.N.-sponsored initiatives to reunify the island have failed over the last 35 years, including the most comprehensive bid in 2004 when Greek Cypriots rejected — and Turkish Cypriots approved — a U.N.-backed plan.

Christofias and Talat ended a four-year stalemate last year when they agreed to restart peace talks.

Crying out "FIRE" in a crowded theatre, is not covered by Freedom of Speech, when there isn't actually a fire in the theatre.!

Making a false report to a police officer, is not covered by Freedom of Speech.!

The first article makes FALSE statements just as Bayrak does. This is not Freedom of speech issue, but distortion of facts and violation of journalistic ethics. This type of reporting is only fed to the uninformed and the ignorant, nothing more.! The rest who know better, speak out, and those who cherish such distorted news are the unprincipled and the unethical.!

DT ,
here is the news from Bayrak ....

US Senator Richard Durbin is continuing his contacts on both sides of the island on the third day of his visit.

The Senator who was received by President Talat yesterday, toured the Gazimagusa city(Famagusta) this morning.

Senator Durbin had inspections in the city and held discussions with Mayor Oktay Kayalp.

Later, the senator met with the Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias.

At the end of the meeting, the senator said the US will offer any assistance the two leaders may need, in their efforts to find a negotiated settlement in Cyprus

Durbin said that the US have not a specific offer to give, adding that it is up to the two sides to decide what that help might be.

At the end of his discussions in Cyprus, the Senator will fly to Greece and Turkey for talks with Greek and Turkish officials on the Cyprus issue, Greco-Turkish relations, the Middle East and Balkans.

During his visit to Turkey, he will have inspections in Istanbul from where he will fly to the Turkish capital for talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

I wa auoting from the first news report halil where propganda had even managed to make a Greek sponsored trip seem like a trip to visit the "trnc".

The senator spent yesturday on the look out point at the green line with Varoshia with the Mayor of Famagusta Mr Alexis Galanos.
