I searched Cyprus Forum for "Syrian Bible", but nothing showed, so I don't think there is another thread about Simon Bahceli's article on the smuggling of a Syrian Bible.

It seems that this gang was smuggling artefacts through northern Cyprus and looting artefacts in northern Cyprus and smuggling them out; it was probably part of the Turkish deep state's illicit antiquities trade.

I've (summarised the situation of Assyrians in Turkey and) put together more of the details of the case in a blog post on the antiquities trade between Turkey and Cyprus. (I also have information about a similar operation, between Turkey and Bulgaria.)
