I wasn't here at that time and so I would like to ask a question
Why was the National Anthem of Greece chosen for the newly formed CyR?
...and I wasn't born at that time.
Well, I guess as a greek island they adopted the Greek Anthem. Now, you've mentioned it though, I will try to find out and give you the answer you want.
Tcs had no objection to this anthem, if they had why they didn't say so then?
Also the CyR flag was designed by a Tc and the Gcs had no objection to that.
Sorry Rafaela to say this, but you have got it all wrong!
The Greek anthem was never agreed between the two communities, nor it is adopted on the basis of any law. It is simply used by the GCs out of convenience and due to the absence of any agreement or constitutional provision on this matter.
Are you troubled if one suggests that even today, before a solution to the Cyprus problem, there is a need for a Cypriot (RoC) national anthem?
