The Fatwa on Free Speech ....

Postby Oracle » Sat Feb 14, 2009 11:36 pm

I am sick and tired of hearing about all this pussy-footing around the Islamic religion because Christians are too darn nice.

Well I am not religious, so hence not nice ..... I object to all religions because they stifle reason.

Some 20 years after the Fatwa was instructed against Salman Rushdie ... an otherwise innocuous semi-literate author ... we are still objecting to anyone denouncing Islam  as anything but the stuff of troglodytes!

No "ideology" be it religion or political correctness is worthy of freedom of speech censorship, let alone fatwas ...

So wake up everybody. Give religion the heave ho ....

Unite in humanity!

Resurrected Islamic Nationalist countries like Turkey belong in the stone age!
Let Salman Rushdie go free .....

Tolerance and understanding of intolerable religions and regimes as shown by the UK is fundamentally wrong. Do we not have the right to scream , just as they do , from the top of our heads that there is no God , without fearing for our lives. WW2 was fought and millions lost their lives to defeat the Nazis and to uphold freedom of thought speech and liberty , are we now to give these up so that we can pacify a bunch of bloody lunatics. Expression of thought and ideology is not only one sided and we must never accept that the West has to sacrifice its own freedom so that the medieval disciples are not offended.

The Bible contains some of the most horrendously uncivilized acts , events that never occured but fabricated thousands of years ago by inadequately educated and prafanely religious people.
Other Holy books also containg vile uncivilized acts , are we to shut our eyes and play along ?

I’m very much against attacking religions because there is definitely something supernatural about the cosmos that cannot be ignored. It is far too big and far too complex for even the most brilliant of human minds to comprehend so we must never take it lightly.

I say to all those that have strict evolutionistic viewpoints to hearken by leaving a little door open for the unforeseen, unexpected, and incomprehensible even... for the more you know the more you realize how little you know!

Lack of knowledge is never an excuse to give way to accepting mythology ....

It's a cop-out for seeking the truth. Accepting falsehood!

We may not know ... but we do not fill in the gaps with crap!

You can always leave a little door open and classify it as “pending”… besides, how do you handle conjectures?

I don't think it boils down to mathematics ... and this is where you theoreticians have sabotaged reality.

It is about past and present, provable and mutable.

If it exists in the known reality, perhaps that is really all there is to it.

Why should there be more?

Who said we had to be happy and satisfied?

There is DNA and life and death and re-cycling of molecules and nothing more!

Stop day-dreaming and wishing!

If and when man explores and takes control of the cosmos we can make any declarations we want but until that time comes if ever, surely we’ve got to show a little humility…

I'm humble to the likelihood of a God but certainly not to a drunken old fool...
