I'm humble to the likelihood of a God but certainly not to a drunken old fool...

Over 7000 posts over a period of 3 years , not a single word was ever written under the influence of wine or spirits , unlike the bullshit that you have been posting none more blatantly insane as your "war is the only option" bring in blackwater , bring in suicide bombers and other macabre posts which can only be attributed to a morally offensive individual such as you Plonker .
Garbage you are garbage you always will be !!!! Just some of your words you offensive little man .
Say your prayers and go to bed now boy !

@ Bubbles:
People like you must be the happiest on the planet…

@Billy:
Bill, I read your comment earlier but there's far worse in the bible than that!

@ Miltiades:
You and I are from different planets so let’s just leave it at that…

@Oracle:
Goodnight…

Goodnight all…

bill cobbett wrote:"Satanic Verses" ? Not restricted to the Faith of the Prophet....

Must confess to knowing next to nothing about the Koran, but I do read my Xian Bible.

So I thought I'd treat you all to a couple of sections to demonstrate that the Xian Good Book is also a Satanic text. Where shall I start. Oh.... it's opened at Revelations.....

Chapter 14, verses 14-20 tells us that at the end of days some angels will appear and they'll reap the rich and ripe harvest of the Earth with their sickles, it's clearly men, women and children they're harvesting with their sickles . This human "harvest" is put in to a press ...."and blood flowed from the wine press, as high as a horse's bridle, for one thousand, six hundred stadia."

Well that's pretty satanic. These angel chaps could teach our Grim Reaper a thing or two.

..and for those of you frisky, flower giving boys who are looking forward to a good bonk later on this Val's night....here's a little warning...

Revelations Ch 14 v 4 - according to which only 140,000 men escape the aforementioned wine press if and only if, they ..."have not defiled themselves with women".....

So the Kingdom of Heaven seems reserved for 140,000 self-gratifying men. Presumably these are Catholic priests who I understand make a habit of this sort of self-enjoyment.

The whole book is filled from beginning to end with such awful imagery.

I agree.

The Bible is sexist, racist and alarmist. It is a work of pure fiction. It doesn't answer any moral or ethical questions and as far as where we came from, and where we are headed (an unnecessary prediction), it is pure unsubstantiated storytelling, which has been proven time and time again, to have gotten it all wrong! ... From the age of the Earth to the beginnings of life.

So how on Earth can anyone believe that it can possibly be right on any of the other assertions to do with a "God", and an after-life, is beyond rational, provable understanding.

I would go further and say that religion is nothing more than a tool for social control. A low cost (and even revenue generating) method to police the populace and a convenient scape goat (Force Majeure, Act of God etc.) on those occasions when things go wrong.

Religion creates the false hope of a better (and as Oracle points out unprovable) future existence if you adhere to it's laws.

It provides for the ultimate penalty (e.g. your immortal soul and eternal damnation) if you fail to adhere to it's guidance.

The social construct of an omni-prescient and all seeing and powerful being that is aware of your every thought and deed removes the need for constant supervision. The 'followers' police themselves. Those who are clever enough to evade authority in the real world are threatened with something in the afterlife that they can't escape from.

Need somebody to fight your war or blow themselves up on a bus or a plane? Simple, declare whoever you want as an enemy of your chosen deity and guarantee your loyal and long suffering followers an all expenses paid, guaranteed acceptance, 'free set of steak knives if you apply now' short cut into whatever you deem as nirvana, heaven, or the afterlife ....

George Bush claimed that God had told him to invade Afghanistan and Iraq. He only revealed this 'divine communication' when his American subjects joined in with the world at large and decried his actions.

Religion is a blunt tool. Most were created before the internet and the world wide web). How do you get around this? Appoint somebody and spread the word that they DO 'have the Big Bosses' ear and council. Lock up as mentally ill anyone else who attempts to make the same claim. Release regular updates re: anything you want. No argument's, no fuss, and no inconvenient democratic processes, votes or legal systems to go through.

Hallelujah, Praise the Lord and Glory Be to the mighty oppressor of freedom to self-determination.
