US Ambassador to Cyprus Frank Urbancic who is carrying out visits on the island today paid a courtesy visit to the Gonyeli Municipality.
It is the first time the Gonyeli Municipality has ever received an American Ambassador.
Earlier Mr. Urbancic paid a similar visit to Girne Mayor Summer Aygin.
The US Ambassador to Cyprus Frank Urbancic paid a courtesy visit to Gonyeli Mayor Ahmet Benli today.
MR Urbancic paid a visit to the Gonyeli Municipality to get more information about the projects the Municipality is carrying out and the Master Plan.
Speaking during the visit the US Ambassador to Nicosia Frank Urbancic said he wanted to be in contact with everyone in the region and gain more information about projects in Gonyeli.
He also thanked the Gonyeli Mayor Ahmet Benli for his hospitality.
Mr. Benli for his part noted that he had been serving as Gonyeli Mayor for two and a half years and had turned the ‘village into a city’ during this time.
Noting that he had put his signature on many important projects in the region, Mr. Benli said Mr. Urbancic’s visit had not only lifted the spirits of the Municipality but also improved the moral of the Goneyli people as well.
