You know very well that RoC does not look kindly on people that apply to the TC Property Board. I thought that may have changed after Papadobullos had gone. Is Christofias the same then?

Fred , the policy of the RoC as far as the "trnc" is concerned has not altered. It is precisely in line with that of the UN and the UE .

Let us hope that an agreement is worked out soon that would be acceptable to the Cypriot people without whose consent no agreement can be implemented.
If only all Cypriots accepted that they are part of the majority , the Cypriot people . I can never consider Bir , Kikapu , Iceman , or you Fred as minority in your own country , all we all have to focus on is our true motherland , the island of Cyprus.

You should run for the presidency of "RoC", Miltiades. However i see no chance for u to become the president of "RoC"; if u don't talk abt Hellenism, "national interests" and "national cause". Look at all "Roc" presidents; Magarios, Gibriyanu, Glerides, Vasiliyu, Babadobulos, Krisdofyas.. They all became presidents of "RoC" by talking abt Hellenism, promising abt "National Interests" and "National Caue". None of them talked abt Cypriotism becase there's no such thing exists. Thx a lot for how u view some TCs here, at least maybe it makes 3-5 TC to happily smile and embrace u as an individual but means nothing else...

Insan, don't think that it is time to accept others for what they are?

In Turkey you call the Kurds as "Mountain Turks" and until recently you ever prohibited to them to speak their own language.

In the occupied part of Cyprus you are changing the names of our villages, you are destroying our cultural heritage, and you are trying to forge the history of this island.

Cypriots are today what they have been for 1000s of years. Mostly Greek, with some other small minorities. And all countries have some ethnic minorities minorities so that is not unique to Cyprus.

So why are you talking as if we should feel guilty for being today what we have always been? If you don't feel comfortable that the ethnicity of the vast majority of the people of this island are Greek, then you have only your ancestors to blame. They are the ones who invaded this island and brought you here.

I think it is time to stop being racist and accept others for what they are and start respecting their rights.

Great post Piratis ...... I am happy to say you have more tact than I do. I find TC's and their settler friends extremely racist and uncaring I am beginning to believe they are not nice people full stop. As far as the GC being sacked if halils post holds any validity I applaud the President for giving him the boot. Cyprus should not be given off to Turkey or TC's for that matter based on individual greed.

Arent you being hypocritical by denying and discriminating against this person for exercising his right over his property because it does not serve your cause, a cause you have no intention of solving more and more people will start to look for their own remedies if the talks fail yet again.

Long ago, I accepted what u r. U r Greek Cypriots or Cypriot Greeks or as TPap called u "Greeks of Cyprus". We the TCs locally call u Rums of Cyprus(Kıbrıslı Rumlar). It's time for u to accept us what we r. We r one of the 2 main communities of Cyprus that have "political equality" and is called as Turkish Cypriots or Cypriot Turks.(I don't remeber anyone calling us as Turks of Cyprus).

insan, you can be of whatever ethnicity you want to be. It is up to you to decide that. I have absolutely no problem with what you are.

All citizens of this country are equal, regardless of their ethnicity. There are no "two main communities", there are many communities, and all citizens are equal regardless of what community they belong. If we are going to play that game, then I could easily claim that there is only one main community, making up the 80% of the population. But for me that is irrelevant when it comes to rights, because citizens should have the same rights and responsibilities regardless of how big or small or "main" the community they belong is.
