AGREEMENT TEXT MIGHT COME IN AUTUMN

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

AGREEMENT TEXT MIGHT COME IN AUTUMN

Postby halil » Thu Feb 12, 2009 2:51 pm

The Presidential Spokesperson Hasan Ercakica has spoke of a possibility for the two leaders in Cyprus to come up with an agreement text in the autumn.

Speaking to the AKIS program on BRT’s first channel, Mr Ercakica noted that it is possible to say that the negotiations process is moving well.

Listing the Turkish Cypriot side’s expectations on the setting up of a time-table for the negotiations process, he said `three rounds are envisaged regarding this`.

According to Ercakica, the first round of talks is envisaged to be completed by April, having all issues reviewed by the two leaders.

Then a package of comprehensive papers will be prepared, listing the issues agreed and disagreed on.

The second round of the talks will continue until July during which the two leaders will be entering into a serious give-and-take process.

Ercakica said `the political struggle is expected to be hardened during this period`, and the outlines of a political agreement might be drawn in summer.

As for the third round, the Presidential Spokesperson said unresolved issues will be put on the table so that the two sides can come up with a comprehensive text of agreement.

`These form the Turkish Cypriot thesis. However we haven’t reached an agreement with the Greek Cypriot side yet on the establishment of such a time-table` Ercakica added, noting that the increasing interest of the international community towards the solution process in Cyprus is giving hope.

Ercakica stated that the Turkish Cypriot side prefers a higher participation of the UN in the process.

Presumably a higher UN participation to fill in large areas of disagreement to Jerky's advantage as per what happenned with Anon Scam.

Time will tell what is at the end of the tunnel. It has taken all this time to get a process on the table.

Now I understand what my dear now deceased father meant when he said "It is on the table".

(May he have found Peace mate)

Mr BillC Senior, my old man, still says that things are up in the air. To which I say that things that are up in the air tend to get blown away and that it's better to build things on some more solid foundations. You know, things like one person/one vote democracies and all that come with that notion, like what you've got in London, England, Fred.

In all honesty, replace the word England with UK or EU and you have something. In UK we had one man one vote for hundreds of years, and just a few years ago, reverted back to what is being proposed in Cyprus. You see we do learn from other peoples mistakes.
We have never had a country called England. The only thing England has is football team.
Now there is a movement to give the same rights to Somerset and Yorkshire! you see its catching.

Sometimes Bayarak partakes in a little too much sucking of his Bayarak if you know what I mean, so please don't get too excited because people will get the wrong idea, if you know what I mean.

Do you mean you would oppose a process in principle and that there should be no process or that you would like the process to be only proposed by the GCs
Explain yourself.
How can you get to the end without at least first proposing a process. Which planet do you live on?

I don't believe in any process that does not believe in full EQUALITY of every citizen...Anything else is just a waste of time.

You will find that most GCs would agree.
