Ancient Cyprus Castle falling down

By FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE ONLINE STAFF 11.FEB.09

Turkish Cypriot daily Star Kibris newspaper publishes a picture of the castle of occupied Kyrenia and writes that it is collapsing.

According to the paper, the walls are collapsing because of the sea waves and the wind and notes that the neglect to these historical beauties led to these problems.

Kyrenia Castle, despite being one of the most famous historical landmarks in Cyprus, has been left to crumble by Turkish Cypriot authorities.

Last year the back of the castle wall was being used as a rubbish dump for household refuse.

Similar neglect was recently observed at Famagusta Wall and Othello's Tower.

"Has been left to crumble by the TC authorities..."

It's the GCs who won't allow people to come and fix it!

Yet another example of TC neglect against our stolen Cypriot heritage...

But according to T_C the GCs won't let anyone clean up the Turkish garbage, since he claims, it is the GCs that are the obstacle to preserving the unique heritage (which they stole)!

Maybe Bananiot can go and do a quick clean-up, since they love him over there, and he would be safe, with his mop and bucket .....

No need to panic guys..The castle has withstood the elements of nature for over a thousand years without crumbling down and it is not about to do so now.
