TALAT IS THE MOST ADMIRED POLITICIAN IN THE TRNC

Postby halil » Mon Feb 09, 2009 2:12 pm

President Mehmet Ali Talat is the most admired politician in the TRNC, according to a survey carried out by KADEM, the Cyprus Social Research and Education Consultancy Centre.

The survey comes just two months before April’s parliamentary elections and sheds light to several issues concerning the public.

The study names Mustafa Arabacioglu as the most admired MP in the Republic.

Those surveyed listed `Speed of Transactions` and `Friendly and Smiling Manner`, as the most important expectations of the people from institutions providing services.

Bayrak Radio Television Corporation is the most popular television channel in the Republic, while KIBRIS has the highest circulation of all newspapers.

Kuzey Kibris Turkcell, the Eastern Mediterranean University and the KOOP-SUT were listed as the most trusted private institutions, by those surveyed.

Drought, unemployment, lack of electricity, health problems, crime-public order, spoilt environment and corruption-irregularities were on top of issues causing concern among people during their daily lives.

Did the survey include Donktosh? Because Turkish Cypriots were waiting in queues all day outside his house to suck his balls for rounding them up into community farms…

What was the total count, Halil.?

Who actually voted for Talat, other than you and VP.!

Despite all the above problems, Talat won.

The questionnaire asked about the politician's role on the Draught.!

Man, the politicians in the north are blamed for everything.!

I guess all other politicians did not want to take part. After all, what have they done to deserve any praise. Soyer said the other day, that his government has helped the TC's during their time in office, in which he said, that GAS was 50% cheaper than it was in Turkey, therefore he was claiming that he created more purchasing power with the money in the TC's pocket by saving on GAS. He did not say, that Turkey is giving the GAS on the cheap to the TC's instead of more cash, or that the Turkish Lira had lost about 25% of it's value on basket of foreign currencies in the last 6 months, and having 10% inflation, so in fact, the TC's lost purchasing power, specially all those who are paid with the Turkish Lira. Yes, GAS is now cheaper in the "trnc" than it is in Turkey, so he has earned a second term as a result..!

I'm not in love with politicians in general, specially with the ones who are corrupted and are nothing but puppets without a backbone.!

This should just about cover most politicians in the north.

In the RoC, I don't know too much about them to make an assessment really.................sorry.!

You are being very unfair on Talat if I may say so.
Any fool can be brave and get shot in seconds. The brave ones know which fight to pick and have a half chance of winning at least.

Talat stuck to his guns and did not whore himself or his party to come to power.
He waited until Turkey came to his way of thinking before getting power.
How ever as TC'a are totally dependent on Turkey, you are being naive to think that he is gutless because he does not stand up to them.

With a bit of luck, after the agreement, when TC's no longer totally depend on Turkey, then you can judge how much guts he has.

OK I will ask you another way, politically where do you stand?
