Laptop RAM Change?

Postby ForumGambit7459 » Sun Feb 08, 2009 9:10 am

Is it possible to change DDR2 RAM in a laptop to DDR3. Because i was thinking of changing my RAM sticks in my laptop. BTW my laptop is an Acer Aspire 8920G. Someone please help me with this. I was also wondering if it is possible to add, change or remove any other internal components of my Acer laptop.

I very much doubt it. Unlike a PC, there’s not enough room on a laptop motherboard to add the electronics necessary for multiple RAM type support.

Modern laptops can easily have their hard disk, system memory, battery, and DVD drive, replaced by removing 2-4 screws.

In some rare models, you can even upgrade video memory and processor. If you remove each hatchet underneath a laptop at a time, you’ll find out exactly what lies under and can be changed.
