For your information Fred , there are as you know direct flights to Cyprus. If you are however , which I'm sure you are , referring to the part of Cyprus that is under occupation by Turkey then their position is exactly in accord with that of the UN , the EU and all other International organizations.

Then I am afraid, my subscripiton for the said organisation will have to remain in my bank account for a little longer than.

Can I land in Larnaca airport, hire a car and drive to the north, there and then? Would there be an insurance problem?
Do I have to get two insurances?
Would I be allowed to drive a hired-car to the north?

Fred you appear to be an intelligent man yet you fail miserably to comprehend that the North part of Cyprus is univerally recognized as a part of Cyprus that is under the occupation of Turkey .
Are you really suggesting that any world wide Association be it based in the UK or else where ought to recognise the " trnc" as a separate nation ??
This association has as members many Turkish Cypriots , law abiding citizens who are Cypriots such as I but also aware of the realities back home. Can you justify that a Cypriot born in Kyrenia , also his parents and grandparents , must show his /her passport in order to visit his /her ancestral home ?
The Northern part of Cyprus is an integral part of Cyprus but occupied by Turkey not because I say so but because the entire world community says so,

Direct flights to Cyprus have been going on for decades :roll: Where've you been?

Would I be right in saying that they would be direct if it weren't for the detour around Jerkey's airspace?

Can you explain to me what it says in greek about Girne on the greek side of the wall in Lefkosa.

I think it says.... " Kyrenia 30 kms :arrow: "

The Association for Cypriot, Greek and Turkish Affairs (ACGTA) was founded in London in February 1992 with the following aims:

to promote the development and dissemination of knowledge and understanding of contemporary social, political, economic and cultural affairs in Cyprus, Greece and Turkey so as to promote good and friendly relations between these countries;
to encourage mutual understanding and respect between the peoples of Cyprus, Greece and Turkey;
to provide a forum for discussion and exchange of social and political ideas, free from any physical, psychological, legal or other impediment
To these ends, the Association organizes conferences, symposia, seminars, lectures and other activities in which scholars, journalists, politicians, lawyers and other
persons with a special knowledge of, or interest in, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey exchange or discuss information, analyses, views and ideas.

For further information please contact:

Dr Zenon Stavrinides
Secretary, ACGTA
8 Ganners Mount
Leeds LS13 2PE
United Kingdom
Tel: 0113 256 8907
Email: [email protected]

Membership costs £12 per annum, or £5 for students and unwaged people.
To join the Association or renew your membership, please contact the Secretary.

Thanks to Miltiades for the additional posts to clarify ACGTA's aims, and encourage people to subscribe to the email list for the ACGTA by contacting [email protected]

Pity that the posts by some other parties (both here and in other topics) have absolutly nothing to do with the content of the video. It appears that restricting their comments to the subject matter of any given thread is totally beyond the intellectual capacity of some.

Trying to hijack a thread appers as natural to some, as hijacking half of someone else's country.

No that’s a road sign. I was referring to something being for sale? couldn’t quite make it out because it was using Greek letters instead of European. Sorry about that.
