Byzantium ,Ottoman Empire and the Origin of the Crescent

Postby Antreis » Sun Feb 08, 2009 12:08 am

I have received the following .It sounds very credible to me and quite truthful. I am sorry that i have not translated it but i hope some one can.
I do not know the author either to give him the appropriate credit.

Why do you 'think'. Are you getting senile GR. We also posted the Byzantine coin with the crescent and star on it.

Anyway, its old news. More than a thousand year old in fact.

Not exactly copycats. The old Turk were Shamanists before they turned to Islam. They worshipped nature , the sun, moon and stars, the oceans (lakes) etc. These were often evoked in their poetry. It is possible that they used the symbols of the above on their baners. Dont you think so?

That's ok, but to be honest with you I don't think there's anything pertaining to Cyprus we haven't already covered on this forum, and that’s why you’ll often hear that we’re going around in circles!

All religions originate from paganism.
