i wish i was in ENGLAND :O

Virgin Media has unveiled its highly anticipated 50Mbps broadband service today. It is currently the fastest domestic connection available to UK web surfers. Today (December 15th), Virgin Media held a press conference announcing the news of its release. It will be priced at either £35 per month if you take a phone line (£11 per month, total cost = £46 per month). Or £51 if it is taken as a single product. 50Mbps will have unlimited downloads and there will be no traffic management, though it will remain to be seen if this is a permanent decision. There has been no official word on the upload speeds but these have been rumoured to be 1.75Mbit and will increase to 2.5Mbit in 2009.

exactly warez stuff movies tv episodes and sometimes applications... but not only that but watching youtube alot or downloading iphone firmwares helps with faster net. game demos and updates also playing ps3, doing al at the same time needs lots of b/w

also you can pay and download movies from itunes and you get full download speed downloading the movie withing a few minutes, where as now itt akes an hour or so on my 2mbit..

Don't be fooled by these headline speeds. For many of us here in GB who don't have these cable providers, the fastest we can expect through traditional copper wires is no more than 3 MB, dependant on distance from the phone exchange. I was speaking to our internet provider last night and the chap told me that as we live 4.7 kms from the exchange our typical speed of 1.7 MB is the most we can expect through copper.

living in a village i cant get cable but we have full 2mbit not sure if i will recieve 4 if i try upgrade with cytanet..

50 meg is the speed to their network not to the Internet. Your be lucky to max out a 10 meg connection, most servers can't handle it unless your downloading from microsoft.

If you live next to the telephone exchange you could get 24meg, there's your answer move next door to the exchange.
