BRITAIN HAS GONE MAD !!

Postby miltiades » Fri Feb 06, 2009 9:52 pm

After almost two months the lunatics have decided to reinstate a nurse whose misdemeanor was to offer a prayer to an elderly patient.
The country has been going mad for quite a few years now and it has become the joke of Europe. What idiot decided that offering a prayer constituted an offence needing investigating . Plonkers I say stark raving lunatics

"""Nurse suspended for prayer offer

Caroline Petrie defends her actions
A Christian nurse from Weston-super-Mare has been suspended for offering to pray for a patient's recovery.

Community nurse Caroline Petrie, 45, says she asked an elderly woman patient during a home visit if she wanted her to say a prayer for her.

The patient complained to the health trust about Mrs Petrie who follows the Baptist faith.

She was suspended, without pay, on 17 December and will find out the outcome of her disciplinary meeting next week.

Power of prayer

Mrs Petrie, who carries out home visits in North Somerset, said she had asked the patient if she would like a prayer said for her after she had put dressings on the woman's legs.

The patient, believed to be in her 70s, refused and Mrs Petrie insists that she left the matter alone.

The sick woman contacted the trust about the incident and Mrs Petrie was challenged by her superiors.

We are always keen to be respectful of our patients' views and sensitivity as well as those of our staff

North Somerset Primary Care Trust

Mrs Petrie said: "The woman mentioned it to the sister who did her dressing the following day. She said that she wasn't offended but was concerned that someone else might be.

"I was spoken to by my manager. She said 'I've got a letter in one hand and an incident form in the other. You won't be able to work until we've investigated this incident'."

Mrs Petrie, who qualified as a nurse in 1985, said she became a Christian following the death of her mother.

"My faith got stronger and I realised God was doing amazing things in my life.

"I saw my patients suffering and as I believe in the power of prayer, I began asking them if they wanted me to pray for them. They are absolutely delighted."

A spokesman for North Somerset Primary Care Trust said: "Caroline Petrie has been suspended pending an investigation into the matter.

"She is a bank nurse and has been told we will not be using her in this capacity until the outcome of our investigation is known.

"We always take any concerns raised by our patients most seriously and conscientiously investigate any matter of this nature brought to our attention.

"We are always keen to be respectful of our patients' views and sensitivity as well as those of our staff."

Mrs Petrie says that she has taken advice from the Christian Legal Centre, which aims to protect the religious freedom of people who follow the Christian faith. ""

MAY YOUR GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!

It wouldn't have happened if she was a Muslim. I am not having a go at Muslims, it's just the way things are in the UK.

What this nurse offered was as insulting as having a professional GP offer you voodoo for your illness. However, they only pressed the matter because she was Christian and if she was Muslim it would have been: "Oh how sweet and kind and thoughtful". The minorities are running amok in the UK and it takes cases like this to contrast the difference in acceptance levels.

The UK will suffer the same fate as Cyprus if they continue to discriminate against the majority, in favour of some newly invaded minority!

Positive discrimination ....

Gone mad ? is mad, what a week. White stuff falls from the sky and the south of England comes to a complete halt. Moaning, whinging southerners can't go to work, send their kids to school and open up their businesses, and then complain about making no money during hard times.

I don't think that is strictly true, we have had no snow since Boxing day in Cumbria.

‘What idiot decided that offering a prayer constituted an offence needing investigating.’

Well, according to the press reports you posted, the ‘idiot’ was in fact the old lady being treated, for it was she who raised the matter. The process, from then on, was perfectly right and proper according to the complaints procedure, without prejudice.

‘It wouldn't have happened if she was a Muslim.’

Pure prejudicial speculation.

‘……they only pressed the matter because she was Christian and if she was Muslim it would have been: "Oh how sweet and kind and thoughtful".’

…more prejudicial speculation.

‘To hell with the backward third world immigrants , if they dont like it piss off back to their shit holes .’

Prejudice based on stereotyping of the most dangerous and divisive kind.

If this report is, as posted, evidence of Britain having ‘gone mad’ and being ‘the joke of Europe’ as ‘stark raving lunatics’ then I’m glad I’m not sane, like you…

By the way, a point not stressed in your comments - after investigation the nurse was reinstated.

The fact that time and money continues to have to be spent on such procedures is a direct result of the kind of prejudice flaunted in this thread.

(FWIW my personal view is that belief in a god, and the subsequent religions, is probably the most divisive force on the planet - but I respect the right of individuals to have their personal faiths, as long as they do not seek to impose them, uninvited, on others, or indeed claim some sort of right of reverence from others – or kill others in their mission to impose their delusions on others, as we have witnessed from the crusades to 9/11)

Britain is a country steeped in Political Correctness and embarrassed by its colonial past, its Monarchy, its House of Lords and the role of the Church.

Its reaction to all this, is to simply show positive discrimination .....
