N. G. Kyriazis reports that "genuine Turks" inhabited Alaminos, thus the village was a mediaeval feud that the Turks misappropriated after the conquest of Cyprus in 1570-1571, a thing that happened to many other villages of Cyprus.

U should add one more option there, YFred. My ancestors inhabitted in Alaminos from 1571 to 1974. So that, according to this Hellenic source I'm a "genuine Turkish" Cypriot.

At this occassion lemme categorize some Hellenes.

1- Socrates, Archimedes alikes r perfect and genuine Hellenes.
2- PASOK and alikes r good Hellenes.
3- GR and alikes r bad Hellenes.
4- Oracle and all ultra nationalist Hellenes r worst Hellenes.

Must be the same family. Every Friday he would come to our village for Friday prayers. He would come on his donkey and was relatively large built. He would alight at our once coffee shop.

Its not meant to be a definitve list. Its just how we view ourselves.

I used to know a greek guy called Socrates who moved into Lurucina in 1970. Of course he had no problem with communicating with us. I wander what he would make of all this.

I have some good fragmentary mementos regarding Alaminos. The romantic dinner with companion of huge candle lights, embracing the lil lambs in my dad's farm, hearing the echoes of the church bell while my grandma had me have a bath, in the washbasin located outside of the house, summertime... There r some more... I was just 6 y.o last time i visited Alaminos before 74. :D

Excellent tune, Zan. I like these tunes a lot. I composed a few back in early 90s, with my synthesizer. I wish i had time to rearrange them sometime in the future. :D
