Antony needed to see Cleopatra.
So he gave Cleopatra Cyprus.
He figured she needed an Armada
to attack Rome.
To build an Armada you need trees.
So she cleared the forests of Pathos, sorry Pafos
(thats why there are no pine trees near the coast)
She then took her armada made from Cyprus pine
to Rome, had a quickie with Antony, then attacked Rome.
I think thats logical

Why did Anthony give Cleopatra Cyprus

Maybe he couldn't satisfy her. The same reason why so many women from all over the world visit Cyprus.
