History teaches us that any nation which instills in its people immeasurable amounts of ultra nationalistic material , that nation is guilty of excesses of the worst kind. Without nationalism, then you don't have any any mechanism to fight for survival. Without nationalism you have no-one who would be willing to lay it down in order to defend the country. Without nationalism, an Army cannot march into battle, and fight.

Without nationalism you cannot even build a nation to begin with.

A country under occupation and fighting for its very survival has no other choice but to be nationalistic, but alas it ain't nationalistic enough.
