Eventhough a scenario I would think the Turks are in for a surprise. Wont happen so not worth discussing palio

You people tend to forget something about Greece. They have a modern army with great military technology. A real force to be reckoned with. The only thing Turkey has is numbers but what are numbers compared to modern day military equipment? This same site has over 75 pages of Greece's military and I never knew Greece was such a military might. The only thing they are missing is nuclear technology. http://www.greekrealm.com/forum/greek-c ... -army.html

Paliometoxo is right - the alleged quote by Stalin when referring to the Pope "how many Divisions does he command?" springs to mind.

When doing a military staff course they talk about brigades and divisions not quality. Also the Turks are not that bad, they have much the same equipment, NATO standard, and many of their best officers train in the UK/US/Germany etc so are perfectly able.

and as the tensions between Turkey and Greece are at present not very high how would the be likely to go to war in 3 months?

Turkey's most powerful weapon is their "soldiers" lack of Human feeling. Their total disregard for human life, be it old, sick or young, male or female. They are devoid of the only hope one has in war that the enemy "love their children too" ... because Turks do not see others as related in any capacity to them, as humans. For are we not told, by them, that the Turks are superior beings? Hence we are inferior animals to them; ants to be trampled under foot, vermin to be burnt out with Napalm, meat to be sliced ...

Nope! ... Avoid the Turk in war ... (or peace).

Greetings,
gals and guys as you are well awared numbers or statistics may not be important because strategy and tactics come first.

But this http://www.globalfirepower.com/ would help to have an idea. Greece could compete with Sweden, North Korea or Mexica if she likes :) and I hope they dont try to convince the public with the idea that Greece might have a great success against Turkey, in fact this would be disasterous for the beautiful Aegean...
