Few basic questions about Pafos

Postby Marian » Tue Feb 03, 2009 12:47 am

Hello ppl,
I am Polish person. I work international. I am in my 30 and Iam single(male). I am a planing to move my residency to Cyprus around second half this year because my employer is based in there. And have some basic questions.

Is any night life going on in paphos wintertime? Are there some pubs open?
Are there a lot of people around 30 years old or the population is rather older and quiet.

Do you at least have a pub open at winter and when do you close it ( what time at night ) is it 11 like uk or it's up to 3 or 4 am?

How much for a pint of lager in the pub?

Is a food expensive beef, potatoes, marmite etc... ?

How much for English breakfast or fish and chips with pint of lager.

Can you bargain in the market once buying potatoes?

Do they have a prices on their goods or they charge you based on your face?

Might the natives be rude to east Europeans or foreigners in general? Can I have some not nice situations because of being Polish? - racism etc...

Where not to live because it's too far by walk form pub at night? ( chloraka etc.. I guess it's to far - isn't it?)

In Cyprus the population on average is younger than in Poland

But in Paphos there are a lot of British expats and many of them are old. And there are many pubs that are open in winter until very late. But you seem to care too much about pubs and beer. In Cyprus there is no more racism than elsewhere but if you get drunk and don't act good then you will not be treated good.

Thanks for your reply.
I care about pubs once I am single and don't have much to do after work hours. But don't worry I dont get drunk and start fights etc... I am polite.
Also price of a pint is a good price indicator.
