Property in N. Cyprus owned by Greek Cypriot

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

You do not negotiate with the thief for something that is rightfully and lawfully yours.

There is a TRNC property commision you can apply to, it's just not promoted that well. If you contact the TRNC representitve in Trafalgar SQ they will have the details on where and how to apply.
There has been some positive results recently.

Your so called property commission is crap, I've tried it. The people "promoting" it in London don't know their arse from their elbow. For example, when I enquired, the contact phone numbers to the "trnc" representitive were given with the old London codes 0171, about 10 years old!. They sent me the forms to buy stolen GC property. If they are keen to make it work they should promote it and make it more user friendly but I suspect they are so incompetent they could not cope with more than one application a year.

Excactly.
The mentality of the thief, though, is different.

Is that 1 earth hour or 1 Uranus hour?

Talking of Thiefs, didn't GC goverment offer the TC who owns part of Larnaca Airport 20,000 pounds - You will find thats exactly the formula the TRNC property commision is using. Whats the old saying - whats good for the goose is good for the gander dearest.

Yep. Nothing new. Believe me it is not a front. The TC civil service is a little behind the times. Judging by past experience, I would do the following if you want results.
Fly to Ercan. Find yourself a TC who knows his way around the system. Employ him to do it for you. It will take some time but it will succeed.

Judging by what I have heard, GC version is no different.
It’s a Cypriot thing.

Sorry.
I should have said, if you need somebody, I know just the man!
I gave him a TRNC passport form in the morning, and I had the passport in the same afternoon. How's that for a service?

What year was that offer made, YFred, the 20,000 (Cyprus Pounds) and for how much land are we talking about.? Did anyone tell you, that property prices on the average go up, so that what was sold yesterday may be less than if it was sold today. I know the Annan Plan had it, that the GC's would be paid in 1974 prices for their land in the north, which would have been peanuts to what they are worth today, and who was going to benefit from the difference, not the legal owner of the property, but the illegal "owner".

I think it was 20 donums. They built Larnaca airpot on it. Not sure exactly when the offer was made but it was recent.

My father waved aside any compensation for expropriated land, used for a Dam.

But I guess the lesson we have learnt, is that most TCs are just greedy ....

Expropriation without the owners being informed or compensation is legalised theft. Nothing more nothing less. This from the recognised GC government who objects to lands in the north being used on account of being stolen, but allows tourists to land on TC land. I would accuse you of being total hypocrites, but I want, because it would be an insult to hypocrites to be included in such a category, dearest.
