I have two copies of the Department of Lands and Surveys English-language map of Cyprus. The map revised in 1984 spells this city 'Paphos", and the version revised in 2001 spells it 'Pafos'. I hope this helps.

I don't know the full story but my Gc friend was forced to change the beginning of his name from "PH" to an "F".......By whom or what I cannot ask him at the moment!!!

Fillipos?????? No, I haven't heard of anyone having to change their names because of the stupid minister we had a few years ago.

Well...When I google it with a "PH" it comes out as Greek but when with an "F" it suddenly becomes Russian....Not what you thought by the way!!!

No, the Department of Lands and Surveys have got it wrong!

In 1946 , when I was born in Stroumbi The Great , Paphos was spelled as Paphos , why change it !!

Because
it has been changed already
to PAFOS
And the guy at Strumbi Garage
owes me €20

I know the father , Savas but do not know his son who now runs the garage , tell me about it and I will make sure he pays up
