Internet Services in Cyprus

Postby asiftahir » Mon Feb 02, 2009 11:57 am

I want to know about the internet services in Cyprus. Which media is being used in Cyprus for internet services. How much internet is costly. ISP companies and rates. What if someone does not have telephone?

this topic has been discussed many times and a simple search you would find answers but : http://www.cyprusbroadband.net/ this website has a list of adsl cable satelite providers in cyprus and prices, cytanet now has 4mbit and 8mbit for business and another isp 8mbit for home i have 2mbit with cytanet and pay about 30 euros with a 440kbit upload

hi all... I was in Cyta offices the other day and the lady told my that they are due to upgrade their speeds very soon. So my 4Mbit connection will be 8Mbit for free... has anyone got any info on that?

it was one of the ladies that does the contracts for new lines and staff like that... she said they are expecting some licences to go through first and then it will happen... she couldn't really tell me exactly how long that would take but she said hopefully before the summer... As far as email notifications, I am sure the won't send anything untill they get everything ready first... I mean the last thing they would want is telling everybody about the upgrade and then proves they won't be able to do it... lol... they would lose a lot more customers!

:D... don't blame me though if they don't do it. this is what an employee told me... nevertheless they would have to make an upgrade anyhow... In Europe they get 24Mbit for the price we pay... but if you go to Cyta just ask them as well... :D
