You are in business in the market I believe! Would you sell an item for 50% profit if you know you could get 75%? A business can only survive if its customers will pay the price

I would stick to 50%
its enough
and your customer is happy
and will return

Well that is your perogative- If I know I can get 75% then I would price accordingly. Any way we're digressing from the subject of high prices And the point I was making is that as long as these establishments get the customers in then they will charge accordingly. If its too high then the punters will vote with their feet.

Kafenes
lyso, I DO NOT LIE!!!

PROOF: As I walked towards the entrance their was a sweets seller on the left hand side and a cake seller on the right hand side. Next, there was 2 pie shops on both sides before entering the large hall ( the one on the right had the jams as well). Ask the big guy who sells materials if he saw me, I have bought 50 meters of material from him earlier from his shop and he recognised me.

EVEN MORE PROOF: Paid €5.00 for 2 tiny pies (€2.50 each|) which were mostly soggy pastry with the minimum of filling and no taste.

And you moan about 8 euro for an omelet

my moan

Postby Pubcraft » Tue Feb 03, 2009 12:39 pm

Funny that no issue has been made of the lack of service . We all at some stage pay more than the going rate and that for the service . So please explain I knew the price cause I saw it on the menue but then should the two not be linked.Good price and good service.

Not bearing the thought of another can without glass we deceided to leave called for the bill and told 10 euros. Two coffees and ! can of beer we tried to complain and were told thats the price . We paid and left

Hi pubcraft

The above paragraph from your initial post would seem to indicate that you didnt realise the price prior to ordering.

As for the poor service well there is really no excuse for that but personally after 10 minutes of sitting waiting I would have got up and gone elsewhere

Having patronised that harbour cafe, twice; I reckon it's because it is a bit sprawling that it's difficult to catch the staffs' eye, although comparatively, not too bad at all ... Having said that, they were a bit surly (and not Cypriot)

It is in a prime location, so you have to expect to pay premium prices. That is fair enough.

If I was President :D ... I would make every one double all the prices on the Island overnight ... Hopefully that would half the number of tourists (get rid of the worst), without affecting profits, and improve speed of service.

Problem solved!

Alternatively: .... well, you know what I would REALLY rather do!

Justify poor service

Postby Pubcraft » Tue Feb 03, 2009 3:50 pm

Lets be honest any tourist being dealt such poor service and charges won't be going back to England saying 'if you go to Cyprus give that place a miss ' No they will say don't go to Cyprus cause you get ripped off . The saying 'ALL TARRED WITH THE SAME BRUSH'
