EOKA B': Why were they so bad? Last stance against Taksim?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

EOKA B': Why were they so bad? Last stance against Taksim?

I don't know much about EOKA B'.

What I do know, is that in order to keep the TCs happy, we have to say they were evil.

But what exactly was it about them, which set them so far apart from democracy?

I know they wanted Enosis, which after the 1960 Constitution was unnecessary. But was it not their democratic right to desire this?

Were they branded as an illegal terrorist organisation (as TMT was)?

The TCs stood in the way of Enosis (even when impossible), preferring Taksim instead, which EOKA B' opposed ... But I would oppose Taksim too!

So what was so wrong about EOKA B'?

Why should they not have fought against Taksim?

EOKA B' achieved notoriety, as far as I can tell, when they stepped in to help the Greek Coupists to overthrow Makarios ... and this I cannot forgive them for. Their (one?) major flaw!

But they were not all bad, surely? :?

Apart from their last failing ... what else along the way marked them as undesirables?

Because they sure seemed pretty shrewed about the pending danger of the Turks, IMHO ....

I believe that EOKA-B and their actions, crimes; must be examined under an ideologic and criminologic perspective. Although this is the job of ideologists and criminologists, I'll share my opinions with u abt it, later. Btw, thx Oracle bravely putting forward this issue for discussion without any twist. :D

It does make me laugh about all these factions that the GCs try to blame rather the whole. Not that I mean each and every one. The only time that there seemed o be a problem with all these factions working together was in 1974 during the coup. Before then all the arms of the octopus was heading in the same direction. EOKA, Akritas and the Greek army........

Only if they have something to add ... which you clearly don't!

There are good and bad points to most things. However, you just see good in Turks and Bad in GCs ... therefore, maybe you do not count.

We hear about the bad of EOKA B' ... mostly that they were on their guard against Taksim!

Is that bad or good in your opinion?

Irrelevant ... EOKA B' was opposed to Taksim to the very end and this is what materialised when they made their one fatal flaw, overthrowing Makarios at the behest of and in unison with the Greek junta .... A testament of their desperation at the continued daily threat of pending Taksim ... a reality since at least 1964.

EOKA A and EOKA B, same shit different time, terrorists who killed innocent people for a dream that cost them and you dearly in the end.

EOKA B also didn't like commies so they just might make a comeback and teach you lot another lesson in why not to elect commies as your leaders.
