The logic is simple. If you wish to understand (and solve) the problems of Cyprus as an independent sovreign antion, you have to look at it's history as an independent sovreign nation. If you wish to understand TC conerns today (which clearly you have no interest in Piratis) then you have to understand how TC were treated by GC in the period 60-74.

Your appraoch is clear. You have two appraoches.

1. All you need to understand about the Cyuprus problem today is what happend in 74 and afterwrds.

appraoch 2

2. To understand the problems of Cyprus as an indpendent nation today and find a solution you have to add up all the things done by either the ottomans or TC or Turks to GC in Cyprus since 1450 onwards and compare these with all the things done by GC (but not Greeks?) to TC (but not Turks?) in this period and decide the sum comes out such that the ottomans/ turks/ TC did more bad things to the TC and thus the TC should just put up with and accept any demand of the GC, any oppression of GC by TC until the balance reaches an equal point.

I know which appraoch is most consistent with relaitic attempts to find an agreed solution to Cyprus problem between mine and either of yours.

Landjo,

there would be nothing illegal in the occupied areas if the people living there owned the land and the properties they grapped. The fact is 86% of the land and the properties in the occupied areas belong to the GCs. The TCs who went to the occupied areas left behind 1/3 of properties area-wise and 1/20th value-wise compared to what they got.

Outsiders always tend to aside with the weak. Many foreigners (like you), feel sympathy for the TCs today. The reason is because TODAY they see them suffering economically. In 1974 however the GC refugees were suffering from living in tents with no money, no food, no job, propertyless people who lost everything within days. Did you ever tried sleeping on the ground in a field one night Landjo in the summer night heat of Cyprus August? While at the same time the TCs were having parties at the pseudo and were loading one ship after the other with stolen goods from our houses -refrigerators washing machines TVs furniture and what have you for export..

The reason you never heard the voice of the TCs is because for long long years they were busy having parties. What would they tell you anyway? That they just declared their Republic the KK something?

Yes I know. While the TC politicians were busy exploiting to the fullest their own people forcing huge numbers to uneployement/import of settlers/emmigration of TCs, our GC politicians were busy selling out our rights. Clerides was the last one. When Papadopoulos took over could not even think the Anan Plan was a trap, a sale out scheme prepared with the consent of our own people. Therefore he’s fallen into the trap. When he realised what was going on it was too late. We are now still paying the price.

Can you not understand that the land is land that you 'formerly' controled and that my use of 'control' rather than 'own' is expicitly used so as to not be 'polticial' or a seens as justification for the current lack of control of this land by GC.

The fact is that you use the same label i.e "former" used by the occupation regime as meaning "not yours any more" and this to the GCs means "stealing". Why don't you simply say GC properties.

Erol wrote: it is extremely unlikely that you will even be able to get the european arrest warrants already issued for people illegaly (under RoC law) exploting former GC land executed in any EU country.

And you are so happy for it aren’t you? Come on SAY IT, why are you hiding behind your finger?

Regarding the matter of Electricity the RoC was indeed supplying it free to the occupied for many years (i am not sure if they still do). The continuous power cuts were ALL due to overloading the lines in the occupied and burning the fuses. After all it was free man, why not have our Airconditioners running all day with all the windows open?
Water supply was and still is free (at least in the Nicosia area). I don't know about the rest.

The one and only river in Cyprus that has water all 365 days of the year (Karkotis river) is also let flow uninterrupted (without building a damn into it) to the occupied to help their agriculture.

How then, were GCs in favour of the NAI vote supposed to speak their mind, when simply saying that was their position or sticking a sticker on their car might end up with them being beaten up with stick and their cars stolen. Especially the school-kids. Damn!

What are you talking about man? Were those remote incidents or the general picture?
I don't know from which country you originate from but when you will have a referendum in your country that will decide if 2/3rd of your property will evaporate and go in the hands of those who stole it from you then yes you re free to behave much much more politely to those who will vote yes. To tell you the truth if such a referendum was carried in ANY european country the people would go on revolution-not go to vote for such a shit.

So, please enough of hypocricy and enough of free lectures.Yes the reaction of the GC people was 100 times more civilised than what it would be in ANY european Country, and we had the most democratic and complete debates and the most deep information about the Anan Plan you could ever imagine. Even today one year after and I see TCs in this forum not having a clue about the Anan Plan, let aside foreigners like you.

Nope, those are definitely not my approaches.

My approach is that that we should apply what is legal, and create something based on democracy and human rights.

However your approach is that GCs should be punished and what we should have in the future should be something better for TCs and worst for GCs. I simply remind you that you are the last ones that should ask for anybody to be punished since you committed 100 times more crimes against us. So if somebody should be punished based on the past is not us, but you. However, unlike you, we do not ask for anybody to be punished based on past actions. We just ask for return to legality, democracy and human rights for everybody.
