Are you arguing that it is a basic truth or practical precpt that people should beware Greeks bearing gifts? ;)

It is rather a saying Erol and has a wider usage than just when referring to Greeks.

Mr Kifeas

That may be so but I wonder if the originator of this proverb, saying, quote or whatever didn't have something against the Greeks, Ancient or otherwise?

According to the english language "The New Anatolian" for the first time in a report of the European Parliament, the responsibility for the stalemate in the Cyprob has been dished out to the GC side. The report was released on Sunday and it says, among others, that the only thing Papadopoulos is interested in is to be reelected President of RoC.

Viewpoint wrote:EU'S SECRET REPORT ON CYPRUS

European Union (EU)-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Commission Co-chairman Joost Lagendijk who paid a visit to Cyprus last month criticized harshly both EU and also Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos in his report. The report stated that Greek Cypriots prevented packages prepared by the EU to save Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) from isolation, noting that Greek Cypriots' saying 'no' to the plan of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan strengthened ethnical separation. It stated that EU was responsible for current deadlock in Cyprus.

Big story in north today, any comments??? was it covered in the south???

If there's someone to blame this is Talat and not Papadopoulos. Papadopoulos does not prevent any help to Tcs.

Talat wants the thousands from EU but at the same time he wants the embargoes to be lifted. This is where Papadopoulos disagrees, embargoes cannot be lifted also due to international laws.
So who is preventing the money from reaching the Tcs?

Regarding the rejection of the Anan plan, they should have known better those who made the plan according to Tr's measures and tried to tric the Gcs and threaten them not to reject the plan.

Would you accept this plan to solve your problem with the Kurds?

Talat has had no opportunity to stop the solution unlike tassos who is stabbing it to death at every given opportunity.

Also should be noted that if all the E.U leaders are reading this report(which they will) then it can be safetly said that tassos has done the ROC no favours and the clock is ticking against the gc, can you hear it TICK...TOCK....TICK...and it goes on.

Rafaella, do you think we could ever convince a third party that the TC's who said "yes" to the solution proposed by the UN do not really care for a final setlement and the GC's who said "no" are the ones that really want a solution? Is there a single leader who beleives today that Talat is intransigent? Is there anyone out there that thinks that Papadopoulos is sincere about wanting a solution? If you know of any examples please inform us.

Who was preventing solution all these years? Turkey, through her representative here, Denktash.

The Gcs want a solution more than the Tcs and definitely more than the settlers.
There was a plan for a solution BUT not a fair one, therefore the result was expected. I am sure that if the plan was fair then the 80% of Gc population would have voted Yes.

The clock is ticking against Gcs from the day the turkish troops invaded the island.... But never forget, unjustice was never blessed.
