Hi,
Can anyone tell me how the EURO is being affected by the Sterling?
We are coming out in May and are now concerned to what the costs are going to be like, doing the usual eating out drinks etc? we are coming out to Limassol in may.

Prices here in euro have remained pretty steady, so I am afraid it is going to be very expensive here in sterling terms.

May is a long time and anything can happen. The start of the month the GBP was gaining on the Euro but things have slowed down towards the end of January. Cyprus was expensive before the hike so god help us now!

If it were a little more comfortable to use, it's only use would be in the loo, I'm afraid.

Seriously, it's not like the holiday will cost you thousands of extra pounds because of the exchange rate (given most lifestyles). If you can afford it and want to go, then go.

Some of the hotels in Cape Greko were charging €6.00 a pint last year - sheer short sighted greed!!! People will never come back - when will Cyprus learn

If you love Cyprus but you don't like the Euro, you could always come to the North where the Turkish Lira is used. The pound has stayed steady against the Lira and you can still eat and drink out at very reasonable prices. Give it a try - you'll be pleasantly surprised (no Ayia Napa!)
