More lies from MrH

We started to use properties of TCs in the free areas of Cyprus only after the 1974 Turkish invasion, and after the 18% of TCs took the 37% of land and we had to house close to 200.000 refugees in the part of Cyprus we were left with.

I don't know how common it was, but it was a Greek Cypriot who told me that when her village's Turkish Cypriots left (in 1964), she/her family had bought some of their homes very cheaply (70 lira). She didn't think I could understand, so she said it to me over and over again, to be clear.

1) So he bought it, didn't steal it.
2) 70 pounds was a lot more money back then
3) You are talking about the case of one individual.
4) We can not even know for sure if he was telling the truth.

The Turks stole the properties of hundreds of thousands of people.

If Turkish Cypriots had offered an incredibly low price for Greek Cypriot homes in 1974, you would not be saying, "e, they bought it".

I know that 70 lira was worth more then, but it was still a very low price. They exploited the Turkish Cypriots' evacuation. It was not a freely-chosen sale. There's no way the contract could be legal.

Why would they lie about what they did? Do you think Atilla Olgac lied too?

I don't even know who are "they" so how can I confirm if what they said was true?

But, I agree that if that happened that such sale could not be legal and that those people should have the right to challenge that sale agreement. (and I hope you will keep the same position about the many other "agreements" that were forced on the Cypriot people and were not a product of our free will)

The fact is TCs didn't leave from their villages only because of GCs, but also because of TMT. Also, almost all TCs returned to their homes by 1968, so even if the case you refer to is true, such cases were the exception, and not the rule.

On the other hand the stealing of our properties by the Turks, without even any kind of agreement from us, is the rule.

Now lets see...The TMT were in the North and the national guard and all those TCs that you say could have stayed were in the south......You are expecting us to believe that the long arm of the TMT stretched through the national guard and FORCED the TCs to the North......What a bloody idiot you are Piratis...Give you enough rope and you will hang yourself...Keep talking mate...You are your own worst enemy
