According to Turkey's Sabah newspaper, a major development is planned for Karpasia. By the end of 2010, it is reported that the peninsula will be home to 16 five-star hotels, a shopping centre, a marina and desalination plants. The newspaper predicts that Karpasia will become another Las Vegas.

A line in the report talks about using the desalination plants to make the Cyprus desert bloom, just like in Las Vegas! Shows how little the architects of the project know about Cyprus.

And who will stay in these 16 hotels?
Is there enough tourists in Karpaz for them to justify building 16 hotels?!? You don't build 16 hotels in the hope it might "generate" business.
