Kyrenia wrote:Hello,

I am new to this forum, shame on me I newly discovered here :).

I am Adem, 20 years old, and I am a Turkish Cypriot living in Kyrenia. (Currently in Izmır/Turkey for University(Ege University Textile Machinery Engineering)

Roots of my family from father is Paphos, and my mother's root are Kyrenia.

I just wanted to say hello to all of you.

Welcome to the forum Adem , where in Paphos is your father from?
Have you been to Paphos yourself ?

Hello,

It's nice to see you welcoming me to here.

My father is from the village called Istinjoe or Istinjo (not sure about the name), a village in a mountainous terrain.

And yes I've been to all cities of Southern Cyprus so many times, (South Nicosia, about everyday).

Istinjo is about 6 miles away from where I was born. Our very good friend Birkibrisly who lives in Australia comes from Istinjo. He is a true Cypriot above all else. On a visit to Cyprus about a year ago I visited Istinjo as a mark of respect for my dear compatriot Birkibrisly.
His father was the school teacher . The village is located in a very picturesque area of Paphos and it was so sad to see it in ruins .
I picked up a stone from Istinjo which now sits on my desk in my office in London...

Yes, only ruins and porks. Our father's home was one of the biggest house of the village. It was at right after you enter the village. We also picked op a stone and brought it to grave of our grandgrandfather.

Dont let go of your roots , I believe I have seen your fathers house , as you say its when your enter the village you bear right and his house must have been the one on the right hand site just before the mosque .
Your father , just like Birkibrisly , was more a mere stones throw from where I was , do give him my regards , from one Cypriot to another.
Oracle does appear rather frivolous at times but that's a typical trait of most scientists , they are either frivolous or in Oracles case mad !!

Not really O , do like you as you know , rather a lot in fact just dont make me angry !

Actually, I have been there when gates opened in 2003, never been there again as It is so far away from Kyrenia (need about 3 hours). But as soon as I finish university, I will visit again, now I am in Turkey for studying and I go to Cyprus 2-3 months a year and I visit South Nicosia everyday, because I have many friends there and they visit me so much as well.
