Thanks (from the States) for taking all the time to post this story. We're self-employed signmakers, and received a request for banners and flyers from "Rev. Wilson". My wife had already begun the research, obtaining the shipping weights, and almost compiling the quote before I decided to Google "Fun Lin Foundation Center", and came up with your post. Aside from the time we spent reading this thread, at least we haven't lost anymore of our valuable time on this matter. Such a bummer as we sure could have used a big order like this one at the moment. Back to focusing on the real jobs at hand.

Thanks again and best of luck to you.

I'm glad that you acted wisely .Best wishes to you and family .

Are you serious ?
If every time you received such requests and reported them the police would charge you for wasting police time . There are litteraly thousands of these scams . The funny thing is that this money will hit our account sometime next week and then will bounce out a week later .!!!

i see,

so when the money hits the account move it lol

Thank you for taking the time to post your story. We had an inquiry come in yesterday with pretty much the exact same wording but for steel plate. I received pretty much the same response you did this morning for an order, they even listed the same shipping company, TNA International Shipping. However, the address I was given was not for Fun Lin foundation it was for Good Hope Foundation Center in Singapore. I had felt uneasy about the inquiry from the beginning so before processing the order I did a little research and found your post. I told the company I could only accept payment via wire transfer and since then they have replied they can only pay via credit card so I turned down the order. So, thanks again for the post you may have just saved me from losing a significant amount of money!

These scams are quite regular now and most have the same punchline.
Include the freight in the cost , use this freight co who can ONLY accept payment from the shipper .They give you a credit card , mostly cloned rather than stolen so that the genuine card holder is not aware of misuse until the statement arrives. For the gullible the bird has already flown.

Unfortunately even the most prudent business man can sometimes become a victim of fraud .
Some time back , late afternoon a call was put through to me and the caller started by " Hi John need a favour , its Mr.P.. from the R... ( A RESTAURANT OPPOSITE SHOWROOM ) , how are you John , we are expecting a delivery of a couple of boxes containing some DVDS etc., as we dont open till 6 can you please take then in for us ?
Sure Mr M I replied . Oh by the way he said can you pay the driver its 145 I will pay you when I get there .Sure I replied.
The rest is history. Mr P knew nothing about it the boxes were stuffed with old newspapers and adult magazines .To add insult to injury the following morning at around 11 am the Chinese owner of the restaurant next door walked into the showroom carrying two boxes, Good Morning John he said Ive got your boxes !! How much I asked with a grin on my face , its what you said he replied £100 !!!!
Oldest trick in the book , Pubs suffer a great deal from this scam.
