A Cypriot is a Cypriot

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

I have never sided with the Brits but believe that after 50 years it is time to bury the hatchet.

Mate, the only way we can bury the hatchet is when Britain puts right the wrong of 35 years ago. Then they can have their fucking memorial - with bells and a cherry on top. But not before.

Because Cyprus isn't in a position to remember past troubles. Cyprus is still living them. Every day she has to suffer the indignity of 40,000 foreign bastards on her shores, all wearing the uniform you seem to admire so much.

This is exactly what I said to David Carter. I told him that Britain has moral and legal obligations to Cyprus and he does not dispute this.

However, we as Cypriots have regressed a lot for a civilization that spanned 10,000 years. Much dignity can be derived from respecting War Dead. They were prepared to do the same which makes us look pretty silly.

But your position is well understood by Britain herself, I am sure of that. They don't really care and just don't want to rock the boat. It is just that they don't really understand it. Perhaps it is our lack of Military Heritage.

I fail to see why you would refer to the 40,000 Turkish Troops. :?

I have nothing further to say about the matter.

We are prepared. Just as soon as Britain is prepared to fulfil her legal and moral obligation to Cyprus. That's dignity!

Yes.. How's that for dignity!

Unlike you I'm not a big fan of the uniform - especially if it's foreign and especially if it's in Cyprus.

Fair enough. I won't pursue it any more. Your confused position is clear.

Hear, hear! :D (If that's not too jingoistic.)

If all the men wore vragges, we wouldn't be in this mess today!

So one more time for the dummies, A Cypriot is a geographical not an ethnic identifier !!! We are as Greek as anyone from Greece....We are also proud of our Cypriot identity too !!!!! That actually makes us Greek !!!!!

Well said!

I used to be a sheep.... ba-a-a-a-ah I'm all right now.

We? Which we is this? The collaborators with Denktash and his British stooges? You're on your own on this... and way outside of the Cypriot Ethnos – whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean.

I don't expect you to understand Chip as I doubt you have ever worn the uniform.

There are no worthwhile emotions which can only be had by the wearing of camouflage ....

Paphitis will you stop with this patronising uniform wearing romanticism! It is brainwashing such as that, which I fear will lead my son to repeat the mistakes of the past by being tempted into "glamorous" honorable service!

Then perhaps you can explain to me why only someone who has "ever worn the uniform" can understand .... because I don't intend to don one just to find out the mental transformation which occurs.
