A Cypriot is a Cypriot

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

When Greek Cypriots refer to themselves as Cypriots, the majority of them basically identify themselves with the broader and rather historical Greek or Hellenic cultural identity, and not so much with Greece as a political and legal “nation-state” entity! We feel that our (Greek) Cypriot cultural identity is just one such component of this broader historical Greek cultural identity, and definitely not something separate or outside of it!

So one more time for the dummies, A Cypriot is a geographical not an ethnic identifier !!! We are as Greek as anyone from Greece....We are also proud of our Cypriot identity too !!!!! That actually makes us Greek !!!!!

Hey, didn't I ask you before to speak only for yourself. What gives you the mandate to talk on behalf of all the other sheep? What makes you the fountain of all wisdom and what makes people who think differently to you 'dummies'?

I respect your right to spout your belief system though wished you didn't because it affects my sensibilities. But don't include me, or anyone else without permission, in your fantasies, OK?

Respect my right to think differently. 'I' am not part of your 'we', OK?

Problem is… this “Hellenic” identity is a manufactured mythology that began in the early 19th century and foolishly adopted by all and sundry!

Not even the modern Greeks are related to anything “Hellenic” let alone Cypriots from 300 miles away.

Problem is your logic is flawed and based on your own ignorance.

What constitutes a race or ethnicity is a common language, culture, custom and religion. Greeks could be genetically Eskimos, it makes no difference. What is important is that our culture, custom, religion and language has been the same for 3,500 years and this of course makes us Greek. A few Ottomans such as yourself and Chip are cordially excluded of course, at your own request as we fully accept and respect your ignorant existence outside of the Cypriot Ethnos.....Image

We? Which we is this? The collaborators with Denktash and his British stooges? You're on your own on this... and way outside of the Cypriot Ethnos – whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean.

I don't expect you to understand Chip as I doubt you have ever worn the uniform.

I have never sided with the Brits but believe that after 50 years it is time to bury the hatchet.

Believe me when I say that the RoC has had ample opportunity to end this saga with satisfaction, but once again the horses have bolted from the stable.

Mate, the only way we can bury the hatchet is when Britain puts right the wrong of 35 years ago. Then they can have their fucking memorial - with bells and a cherry on top. But not before.

Because Cyprus isn't in a position to remember past troubles. Cyprus is still living them. Every day she has to suffer the indignity of 40,000 foreign bastards on her shores, all wearing the uniform you seem to admire so much.
