We have all heard various stories. Some are obvious exaggerations, some are from reliable witnesses. A close friend, enlisted in the National Guard in 1974 as an older recruit, having just finished his studies in London, was taken prisoner in Kythrea on August 14 1974. He and other soldiers, along with some civilians were marched under armed guard away from the village. He told me that two older women went a little hysterical during this march and kept screaming for a doctor. One of the soldiers waved them to the side and shot one dead. This story I believe. And the question is not the shooting, but the arrest of civilians and their being marched away from their houses. This was the major war crime in this case.

The point was that the Turkish soldiers did not land and check into the nearest hotel Nikitas.....You guys have seen war films and must have read some books on the subject of war.....It seems that you have only seen Greek war films in which you guys are the heroes at every turn......If you cannot get this and need a more detailed explanation...Let me know

Zan the Turkish army is killing the TCs every day by taking away from them THE FREDOM OF RIGHTS

What do you say to my rights being returned under the Zurich agreement maria???

Zan, do you want partition, or do you want the return of your rights under the 1959/1960 agreements? I can't for the life of me see how you can have both. I have asked this kind of question of the partitionists on this forum before, and can never get a straight answer.

You see...This is how discussions get out of hand because you cannot be bothered to find out what I am saying....You have categorised me and that is all you know...

What I want and what I expect to happen are the two extremes Tim. I have asked for the Zurich agreement or another fair deal...We have been refused all except the "RoC" without our rights returned as partners...Faced with this what would you say is the way to go. Partition...Just logical thinking with the information and offers I have n the table Tim....

Zan , there is not a Greek film, either Grek soldier story saying that he kild unarmed person.

this method is just the history of your mother land.

but anyway- story slowly slowly writes the thrue. Turkish army officials "surprised" when hey saw G/Cs to fire against invation army. Sme "bad Cypriots" soldiers did not follow the agreemnt of 1973!!!!!!!in Paris.

The Grek propaganta, after 1974, says that Greece was unarmed, in comparizon with Turkey. The through is thst Greece that time had 2 to 1 army capability aganst Turkey/ Today the ration is 1 to 3 in favor of Turkey.
If Greece was not agreed in advance the invasion of 1974 today's boarders of Turkey would be the villages outside Ankara.

Liesen to someone who knows very well what happened in July 1974

Its all about options Deniz....It is time to move on and let the TC people get on in life. If the GCs see sense and another viable option is on the table then I am all ears. As is the majority of the TC people...I will repeat what was said to me in Cyprus..."Biz neyik"!!!!

If it clears up any questions they have then they are welcome to ask.

My worries are about the suffering of my people. Those that cannot find work. Those whose qualifications are questioned. Those that do not know their future because of Greek aggression. Find a solution is all I am saying and that we will not just wait another 40 years while my people rot so that we may be sent a life line by the "RoC".......The siege on us must be broken by a solution or action from my people. These are the options open to us...Others here are not so honest.
