Should that not be all Cypriots? that is such a racist thing to say. I wouldn't mind if it comes from an extreme GC, but if its from a so called moderate, God help us all.
Or have we come full circle again?
Yes it should be Cypriots. Many innocent people from both sides have died in those wars and conflicts.
The problem is that in all cases the Turks (= their ruling elite - which has always been the military) has always been looking for excuses to
start those wars and conflicts during which all those people died. And they continue looking for excuses
today to continue the war and their illegal occupation.
Don't you think is time to stop the lame excuses and finally allow democracy and human rights for Cyprus? Or you want to continue the war in your effort to steal our lands and take away our human and democratic rights?
You are a reasonable man I think but you have a slight blindness.
The Turkey and Greece were put up to do their bit. The problem was that Cyprus was non-aligned country which the USA disliked. Greece encouraged the fascist to attack. You gave Turkey not an excuse but a reason to attack. If they did not come to the TC’s aid, I believe that not one of my relatives who live in Cyprus would be alive today. And Cyprus became part of Nato.
Are GC’s not aware of their own history?
What you are talking about is not "history" but your own imaginary scenarios.
The historical facts are that there was a coup in Cyprus (like the many that happened in Turkey) and Turkey found that weak moment of Cyprus an ideal time to invade and put into action the partition plan they had since the 50s by start killing and ethnically cleansing Greek Cypriots. TCs also died during the war, but only
after Turkey invaded, and in numbers much less than the GC casualties. These are the
facts
The Junta ruled Greece for several years and nothing happened to the Turkish minority in Greece (nothing worst than what happened to Greek citizens as a whole - who all suffered under the junta). So your scenarios are not only imaginary, but they are also baseless. They become even more baseless when you consider that the Junta in Athens fall soon after the invasion, but the Turkish troops not only didn't withdraw, but they continued with the second phase of the invasion.
This is why the UN issued a resolution demanding the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Cyprus and the respect of the sovereignty of RoC. The Turks had no reason to occupy our lands and ethnically cleanse us. They just used some lame excuse, which was not accepted.
