How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

There are two theories circulating behind all that’s been happening in the last year or so in the RoC…

1. Center and right wing elements are causing gradual and escalating scenes to undermine the communist government.

2. The governing left is purging right wingers from important posts to replace with communists to increase their dominance.

I believe it’s a combination of both!

My local municipality is an AKEL stronghold. Absolute peace, quiet and tranquillity reign here. No aggression in sight. How does that fit into your theory?

If you read the articles I posted it's not just GR's "theory", is it Timmy boy?

Yes, I just wondered if it is significant that AKEL municipalities are being spared all this mayhem and slaughter.

The more important question at the moment is "is the South going towards another junta era"?

Another coup and murders to get rid of the communists maybe?

Maybe the CIA is plotting against the GCs, again?

Maybe it's the EU paying the hooligans and the "police" to topple an unwanted commie government within the EU especially after the Cristofias speach in Russia and the deals the "RoC" made with Russia?

Maybe it the "deep Turkish state" showing the EU that they made a massive mistake allowing the "RoC" to join the EU?

It could also be a Greek nature to fight amongst themselves and blame everyone else for it?

As the saying goes, "it'll get worse before it gets better".

I live in a pseudo-AKEL municipality (Aglangia) and like somone who wrote into the Cyprus Mail a few weeks ago, my house got "lemoned"!!!

At least I found the buggers and they were a couple of teenage eastern europeans who I told my sons would visit them. No more problems.

The problem is not political. Cyprus society is structured to breed frustration especially among the young. I saw the same pattern in 1973.

If you take out of the equation football and politics, how does the average Cypriot channel his energies? In the past it would have been survival and then the accumulation of money. This is no longer necessary. The older generation, and that includes most politicians, cannot perceive the problem so they attribute it to politics.

It is like the story of Nasrudin who was looking for his key in his yard. People came to help him find it and after a long search they said it could not be in the yard. "Where did you lose the key" they asked him. "In the basement" replied Nasrudin. "So why are we looking for it here?" the neighbors asked. "There is more light here" replied Nasrudin.

In a similar fashion the Cypriots are looking at political explanations for the vandalism and hooliganism. They are not going to find it. Hopefully things will change before it is too late.

Hmmmm..tell me CBBC, were there so much problems before the commies got elected? That is since the junta era?

Did the police ever complain about being "persecuted" by their own "government"?

Did the commies ever complain about the "Police" taking their "frustraion" on them?

If it's all "BS" then it's the GC/Greek newspapers spreading it, don't you so think little man?
