Turkey trying to blackmail EU

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

"Turkish PM says EU deceived by Greek Cypriot administration"

He actually stood up in front of the reps of 26 EU nations and told them that Cyprus had outfoxed them all! And he did not think how insulting that was to them! What a diplomat!

"The idea that Cyprus can force issues in the EU"

What has Cyprus complaint re its Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf have to do with forcing EU issues? The choice for the EU is simple, they tell Turkey to respect international law, as all nations aspring to EU membership MUST DO, and the matter is settled.

Britain, France, Belgium, HOlland and Sweden are EU members applying the exact same rules as Cyprus wants applied to their continental shelf arrangements. But according to Bananiot's grading of countries by size Cyprus must shut up and take any shit Turkey wants to dish out.

Well Bananiot, tell us at which size level does a nation become able to pursue its interests in the EU? Is this size determined by land mass, population, armed forces, what?

All politics is a game of blackmail in some form, as well as cajoling and other forms of coercing (bribery, flattery, etc). Just treat this statement of the Turkish PM as such...

The "RoC" not only wants to play dirty with the EU and the UN but also likes to condemn anything Turkey and the TRNC does when it does the same things itself....Only people that have no idea about Cyprus will listen...At least that is how it is supposed to be but......The "RoC" has many politicians in its pocket....Is that better or worse than "Blackmail"?????  [/GVideo]

Everybody appears to have missed one important point. There are local elections in Turkey in about two months' time. These elections are seen as a make-or-break affair for the ruling AKP party. This party has seen its support dwindle as the country is hit by the global economic crisis. Observers believe that if Erdogan's AKP performs badly in these elections, it will be the beginning of the end for them. A lot of what Erdogan is doing is for domestic consumption in an attempt to court the nationalist vote.

You really must try something else to get your gander up Miltiades.....This jumping on the band wagon every time you get a inkling of something that is vaguely in your favour can't be doing you any good when you then look at what is really happening....

You will NOT get an unconditional surrender to the so called "RoC" no matter what the world thinks because of your deception and illegalities being swept under the carpet....It will come back to bite you on the arse.....Just like it did back then when you were working so diligently for EOKA!!!!
