New recruits are accepted twice a year… (“B”) summer (July), and (“A”) winter (January).

So if you were born say in 1980 and join in the summer intake your “ESSO” will be “80B”, if winter it will be “80A”.

I was a 65B… 8)

I would have been a Classeos Summer '74 Kyrenia ... and still have an athia exothou somewhere which shows this .... so guess CF and I were very lucky.

That is a matter of opinion!

Go in January where its cool and slowly gets warmer and warmer and when it gets too hot,its all over, your out and down to the beach.
Also you are mixing with the dropouts and they will look up to you .Go in the Summer and you have to put up with the spoilt brats in the high heat and you will get the crap duties like toilet cleaning because the brats with parents with meso will become officers and make your stay a misery. And when you finish it will be a wet miserable winter.

Again thanks for the advice, think i'm gonna stick to my plan and try and enrol next month, i've accepted that it's gonna be tough, i'm just gonna have to deal with whatever is thrown at me.
I'm sure i will learn a lot about myself, it'll be hard, but character-building.

I hope

I might just crumble and go insane  :P

miltiades wrote:You are by virtue of your father being a Cypriot a Cypriot too. My son born in the UK , English mother is automatically a Cypriot national all that he has to do is apply for his Cypriot ID . You will need your fathers birth certificate , your mothers too and a copy of their passports .

Another querie... i read somewhere that i need evidence of where i have lived all my life, i have lived in the uk all my life, but i'm not sure i'll be able to obtain documents proving this before i leave for cyprus.
If i turn up at the enlistment office with my passport, and that of my parents, and their birth certificates, will they not allow me to enrol because of this?
Will they able to verify these details over the phone from cyprus? Or will emails from schools/university etc be acceptable?
