The idea is to survive the basic training (boot camp) without becoming a target for the more experienced trainers. A smug attitude will make your life a misery so be careful. Be pleasant, low key, and avoid confrontations. Good luck.

New recruits are accepted twice a year… (“B”) summer (July), and (“A”) winter (January).

So if you were born say in 1980 and join in the summer intake your “ESSO” will be “80B”, if winter it will be “80A”.

Can anyone help with an army conscription question. A 17 year old with a cypriot father born in England. If he comes to live in Cyprus will he have to do the army full term or will he have to do 6 months or none at all. Thanks

You can enjoy Turkish army and then as this army is an alliy one you can be exepted of Cyprus army.The only problem is that you will change gender during your obligation there.

I would have been a Classeos Summer '74 Kyrenia ... and still have an athia exothou somewhere which shows this .... so guess CF and I were very lucky.
