:o Nobody brain washed me and I learned about the war myself, I never had anybody to tell me their views and bring me up that way. I'm not racist, I want the real Cyprus back, and I'm surprised at your reactions.

brother are you a Greek-speaker or a Turkish-speaker?

Mr Leon

Good evening

I am a bit confused now because I'm not sure what a Cypriot is supposed to be.

Would you be kind enough to explain what you mean by a Cypriot?

Thank you

Leon i am a turkish speaking cypriot but my young friend you must understand there are people out there teaching the history of cyprus wrong to suit their nationalist agenda.

10 years ago i went round to an old girlfriends house to meet her new husband from cyprus, helen introduced me to him and told him i was a TC, his response was there is no such thing and the only turks are the ones that came after 1974, she laughed at him and explained.
This poor lad was a product of nationalistic teachings, now when ever we meet we laugh about our first meeting.

So can i suggest that you get a more level history lesson on cyprus and you will realise all TC and GC are the same people and should in reality imo be called cypriots only.

Just one more thing if you want to be a smart person in life learn to listen and base your opinions on both sides of the story.

Leon, here, is the GC subconciousness in flesh and blood, that makes the hand tremble before putting a "C" after the "T".
Excuse him, as he has not learned yet to lie about what he truly feels towards TC's.

Don't act like that, Rahmi, it gives me a bad impression of Turkish-Cypriots (yes, I've said it! It's so tempting to just put some inverted commas around that).

Murtaza, I've read sides of the story from a Cypriot and Turkish point of view and both are very bias towards their nationality. I choose to follow on neutral data, with which I came to the conclusion of supporting the Cypriots and Greeks. I'm open-minded, however, and if you can support answers as to why I'm wrong then please, tell me.

By theway, to me, a Cypriot is a Greek-speaker of Cyprus.

Leon let me think.
There were people before the greeks attacked Cyprus.
What happened them?

I think just 3 alternatives.

1-Killed by Greeks.
2-Assimilated by greeks
3-Kick out of island by Greeks.

So If Ottoman should do one of this alternatives. Now will you think
"By theway, to me, a Cypriot is a Turkish-speaker of Cyprus."

I DIDN'T SAY THAT YOU TALKED ABOUT PORTUGUESE ETC. BUT ACCORDING TO YOUR PREMATURE LOGIC, THEY SHOULDN'T BE CALLED BY THESE NAMES BECAUSE SOME CENTURIES AGO THEIR ANCESTORS CONQUERED THESE LANDS!!!!

Besides Cypriot means people living in Cyprus. Both Greeks and Turks have been living in Cyprus. Just become the former lived more than the latter doesn't mean that the latter should be excluded from this "Cypriotness".

Your ancestors invaded my country -- you're not Cypriot, mate. I'm more Cypriot than you are, and that's just my father.

Damn you little boy. Damn you!! Your country? It was a colony of Venetians before the Ottomans (the ancestors of Turks - may be you have not have heard about them before) came and took it! Before Venetians it belong to Lusignans, before that ruled Lion heart Richard before that some other nations. You see! Throughout the history of Cyprus, many nations ruled Cyprus. IT was not a country of "Greeks" that Turks had invaded!

An open minded person would judge the history from every point of it. Your is just a good example of a brainwashed child!
And please stop saying that you are not brainwashed or racist. It's like saying "I am not racist or nationalist, but I want these Jews get the hell out of this world!!".

Sorry, garbitsch, but I didn't have a logic and didn't say my theory had to meet with every other case, did I?!
