So if a Turkish Cypriot is not a property owner, they have no right to live in Cyprus???

As a scholar on the subject, I know how easy it is to 'go native' with one side or the other, often the only way to ensure that one is impartial in Cyprus is to be unpopular with everyone, usually that means you're that one step closer to the truth.

It seems to me you are just wasting your time studying this subject then. Just choose the "middle way", so you will be unpopular with everyone and then you will be as close to the truth as possible

I am sorry, but this is not how real scholars do it.

Hence why I don't... not sure if you're implying something with your final statement, so I'll choose to let it pass...

Completely agree.

Quoted by cannedmoose: So if a Turkish Cypriot is not a property owner, they have no right to live in Cyprus???
Not necessarily. I think as long as they legally apply to live in a home (bought or rented etc.) then that's fine. Same goes for foreigners who have moved to north Cyprus and bought homes from Turks there (because they buying places not legally owned by the people they're purchasing it from).

Leon :D.

Leon, I assume however that you're not saying that Turkish Cypriots owned no land pre-1974? It seems that you're lumping them with 'foreigners' in general, rather than appreciating that many Turkish Cypriots have incredibly long ancestry in Cyprus.

Clarification For You. Everybody should return to their home. Turks can live in cyprus if they own/rent property. i was saying that they can not live in illegally occupied homes.
