That I will support on behalf of the "trnc" to save them embarrassment by taking part in that silly contest.! If the
No Talent Eurovision Song Contest was to have any credibility and all the nations that participate in it, then all the songs should be sung in the native language of that participating country whether they will win or not. Winning isn't everything, but showing the rest of the world what your nation and culture is all about should be the main aim. When Turkey won couple of years ago with what looked like a RAP music, that music did not represent the Turkish Culture nor did it represent 99% of the Turkish Population. Totally dishonouring ones nation by singing in a language and style that is not your own nations language.!

Obviously you know nothing about music the rythems musical instruments and even belly dancing were all Turkish, if the aim is to do well then knowing full well that songs sung in English do better then everyone wants to put in the best effort Gc Cyprus included, 500+ million viewers cant be wrong it is the most viewed musical festival in the world that has produced such international stars as Celine Dion and Abba.

has produced such international stars as Celine Dion and Abba

The above two had talents and they would have been a success with or without this silly show. Granted, in the old days, the show did have better performers. If I remember correctly, Cliff Richards and Lulu also performed and they were stars before and after the Eurovision contest. Abba and Celine Dion were destined to be mega stars and the show did not make them that, because they were already great, because they had talent. Since those two, can you name one other performer who has made it on the world's stage as a great performers, out of the hundreds of performers. You can't think of one because these people do not have the talent to make it. The world is full of talented performers and they did not need to be in this silly show to be where they are. Only the ones without talent need to apply to this dumb show these days. As for the public's hunger to see this silly show and you saying that 500 Million people can't be wrong, is like saying "500 million flies eating shit can't be wrong". It's all a matter of taste, and lets face it, a lot of people will watch anything just to have something meaningless to talk to their co workers the next day about this silly show. Anyway, enjoy the show. When is it anyway.?

Abba and Celine Dion were unknowns and Eurovision brought them to the forefront amking them famous, Now famous and semi famous singers such as the Greek singers Sakis Rouvas and Anna Vissi have performed a few times in this show you call "dumb" (spelt correctly). Its a show piece of fun and music bringing Europe together. Your pompous and arrogant high and mighty woodbe intellect is fooling no one and 500 million people do not take kindly to being called flies around shit, maybe it is you who so "dumb" that you cannot even take such events for the what they really are bringing all these people together to enjoy music in which every form standard or shape each country wants to contribute.

you call "dumb" (spelt correctly).

No, it was spelt correctly the first time around.........."Dump Show".!

I'll take the America's Cup event any day of the week, GR.!

When Switzerland won against New Zealand in their last event in 2007, the Swiss team won that event, coming from behind, by ONLY 1 second. Now, that's what I call a thrilling event.! :D

VALENCIA, Spain (AP) - In the end, a four-year race for the America's Cup came down to one second.

Alinghi won a thrilling photo finish over Team New Zealand on Tuesday, with the Swiss team squeaking across the finish line one second ahead to take the best-of-nine series 5-2.

"To win at the last second, it's unbelievable," Alinghi owner Ernesto Bertarelli said. "It's done a lot for the sport. It's got my heart."

How about our politicians join your politicians and represent the whole island together.......as per the 1960 agreements?

Why don't you dissolve the "trnc" and join the RoC as per the 1960 agreements? The Zurich constitution has not been dissolved and you also have 15 parliamentary seats waiting for you, including the office of Vice President.

TC Folks ! Your Seats are awaiting you !

You ungrateful lot, go and thank your GC brothers for their generosity. Let the drums beat, let the music play ! Let the feast begin !

I don't mind........ as long as it is GetReal who is singing.

That's based on the assumption that I've got a good voice... keep dreaming!

No, that is based on the assumption that you must have a voice, at least better than most previous ECS singers who always reminded me that I often forget greasing the hinges of my cracking door.

The subject has yet again swang from the real issue which is not the quality of such contests but the fact that TCs will never be able to represent Cyprus is united or not because GCs will do everything within their power to stop and exclude us.

We should consider ourselves lucky really.!

Has the TC's ever tried to enter for Cyprus in the last few years and were turned down.?

Would a TC sing a song under the flag of Cyprus.?

Would the "majority" vote for a TC? thats the crux of mistrust GCs will always use their advantage to get what they want not what we want just as the case of stopping enosis we have to fight for our rights against a racist majority which will always ensure we are excluded unless there are plenty of safeguards to guarantee our effective participation, eg if a TC singer is never chosen over a given period then we at least get a look in over given period of time but if GCs choose a TC singer on merit then this safeguard wll become redundant.

So the answer to my questions was a resounding NO, so how can you then complain about something if you haven't even tried to do it. Now, can you answer the original questions before saying anything else.!

You cannot have a rotation system as to who should represent Cyprus next. It is an open competition that anyone who wants to represent Cyprus should enter and accept the results chosen by the people. What you want to create is a huge bureaucracy to have a lot of useless pencil pushers to dictate who should be chosen or whose turn it is next. Not just for this stupid contest but for every single little event. You want to reward mediocre and punish excellence. Your ideas are worse than what the communist had in the USSR. If good singers are overlooked by the majority and they choose a bad singer based on ethnic lines, then guess what, the bad singer is going to lose and the whole country will not win, and pretty soon, people will chose excellence over bad regardless what the ethnicity is. If we are ever going to build one nation, one people and one citizenship, then you cannot have quotas based on ethnicity for event representations. But then again, you think like Talat and you both are not interested in having just ONE Cyprus but TWO of everything, just like Noah Arc.

Talat's idea for Cyprus..................Two of everything.!
