How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

She came 5th out of 10, and very near the 4th and 3rd. So whats your point?

It is you who is biased if you think she should have won, since her song was surely not the best one and not the second best either. The max she could have got with that song was the 3rd place.

Even if she had the best song she did not have the potential voting pool like the other GC singers, she was up against from the outset, clearly the best voice on the night but lacked the voting potential of the other singers.

You need to listen to Zelish again she is rarely out of tune I have heard her live and she very good, thought she was one of the best on the night but with 800.000 GC voters she didnt stand a chance. We are still real proud of her did real well considering the pressure she was under but the outcome was known from the outset.

Her song was yesteryear…

She was clearly copying the Greek entry from last year ... a poor impersonation!

Typical Turk ...

The composer and arranger of the song is GC, Nicos Evangelou... u typical Hellen ultra nationalist. Hatred towards Turks blinded ur eyes and made a huge damage on ur brain.

Did the composer try to dance like her? ... it was her performance and delivery which were an imitation of the Greek entry ... the song was different.

But she had a hard facial expression, not as innocent and sweet as the Greek entry, that was the main difference.

Yeah, I agree with that... all up just 30,000 odd votes were cast, many from the same phones!

The potential of 800.000 GC votes is what counts, theres a far better advanatge if you have this sort of pool.

Shit happens when you're a minority... :(

Is that what you wanna hear VP?

Btw, that "Bleed 4 U" was UTTER crap wasn't it? :?

VP, those 30.000 votes means a lot less people, since each phone could make 10 calls. So if 1500 odd TCs wanted to push the TC singer to Eurovision they could.

If you take the issue in a racist way, and assume that each side would vote singers coming only from their own community, then the votes of those "800.000" GCs would have been divided by 9 songs, while all "120.000" TCs would vote that one song. That would make the song with the TC singer win.

But that is not what happens in reality, because most people are not racists like you. They either vote based on what song they like, or they vote for their friends/family.

In the good old days, one sent an entry only in the form of sheet music accompanied by a rough recording on tape or even cassette. The name of the songwriter was in a separate envelope which was only opened if that song won to represent. There was a panel of around 100 people of all walks to judge the songs. CBC (RIK) decided who would represent the song. I have sent 2 songs in the late 70's but I must admit they were not very good. :)

All the performaces were below average but Zelish out in a good performance had she had a less racist audience I think she would have done much better, her vocals were far better than the others. This is what I was saying before we do not stand a chance as the majority would rather send a child with very weak vocals and a song stolen from a few years back than a strong TC singer.

Actually among the other crap I think that was the better one. Although I think it would sound better in German

I did the math for you earlier, and your point is not valid.

800.000 divided by 9 is less than 120.000.

The fact is that the vote was not based on ethnicity, but still if the TCs wanted to push their own singer, even if her song was definitely not the best one, they easily could. All it was needed is 1500 TCs to vote.

In this case 800.000 potential GC voters vs 1.200 TC voters friends and family is not match. She didnt stand a chance but we knoew that from the outset.
