Apologies was 8pts a one in life time gesture.
That is because you always say thank you, and mean it. Like the time you needed electricity from the RoC, and as soon as your problem was solved, you went ahead and lightened the "flag" on the mountain as a form of a thanking gesture.
No doubt you Gcs helped us in hour of need and the majority of TCs are grateful escpecially the old frail and sick but we piad in EUROs, we are not complaining but just that you know you sold it to us just like any other consumer.
Shame we didn't give it to you for free. After all, it costs us nothing to produce it, since we use the mazut we pump out from the oil wells we have in the south.
You could have deducted from the benefit you have sucked out of being the recognized part of Cyprus and all the international aid you consumed on our behalf, but that said we are very grateful..thank you.
Don't you make a parade every 20th of July? Isn't it because of what Bananiot also agrees with, that you won the war in 1974?
Yes we do celebrate the day the Turkish army arrived to save us from the tyranny of the GCs as Sampson said there would not be one TC left alive...thank you Turkey we will always be grateful.
How many T/Cs were killed 7 years before the Turkish INVASION did you say ??
Here we go:
1974 to July 1974 NIL
1973 NIL
1972 NIL
1971 NIL
1970 NIL
1969 NIL
I believe the last incident was in 1968 or 1967 .
Interesting that Turkey invaded to save the T/Cs when in fact NONE was being killed !!!
It would be stupid for Turkey to wait calmly under the then circumstances while it was highly probable for the most fierced Enosist, Turk-Hater, fascist Sampson and his backing crew
irregulars of EOKA-B, backed by fascist Junta kill thousands of TCs. Better to be early then to be late.
Moreover, before intervening; Turkey tried her best, did everything possible in frame of diplomatic relations following the coup in Cyprus; in order to restore the constitution at least to it's previous state where talks were taking place between the leaderships of 2 communities. Even 5 minutes before the first casualties took place at Kyrenia fronts, the then PM of Turkey relayed a message to the Hellenic side... The consequences were inevitable from the moment the first casualties took place on 20th of Jly, 1974, early in the morning.
U claim that Cyprus would be handed over to US after a short time period following the coup; although it sounds ultra funny to me, what would be the future of Cyprus and Cypriots under the regime of fascist Junta "presumably" controlled by US? What would have been Turkey's reaction to this? What would have been USSR's and it's allies reaction to this? Don't make me laugh...
Ps: What happened to EOKA-B irregulars following Makarios' return to his office? They kept threatening Makarios? How dared those EOKA-B irregulars to threaten Makarios, in the "free areas"? It is those EOKA-B irregulars and actually the ones behind them r the direct and only responsibles of the second phase of Turkish intervention which took place on 16th of August.
