CyBC's bilingual Biz/Emeis programme last night interviewed a Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot singer who regularly perform as a double bill at a Nicosia night club, each singing in their own language. It appears that at least a section of Cypriot society is quite confortable about listening to songs in both of the main languages of the island.

How many more badges do you need to get before you can become Greek scout leader??? I bet you are annoyed that you were not around in the 60s to get your "I killed at least one TC badge".....Perhaps you can contribute to starting another war so that you can gain your badge...

What are you going to do once you become FULLY Greek??? YOu will have nothing left to do!!! YOu can, I suppose, then become a fully fledged Cafe Greek.....Pull up a chair!!! 8)

There are many that are comfortable with the TC Tim.......Until you ask for the rights of the TCs to return or have us represent Cyprus in anything as TCs...Then all hell brakes loose!!!

Fair enough. You are saying that this is a political, and not a cultural question. At least we can reject Cem's claim, based on a couple of out-of-context quotes, that Greek Cypriots in general have an innate aversion to the Turkish language.

I don't understand your problem zan, I don't think any of my posts on here have been anti-TC. I may have been anti a particular TC opinion, but I don't see how that makes you think I want to have killed or want to kill anyone. When I do recieve my Cypriot citizenship, I will be just a Cypriot, not any artificially created sub-division of that.

Are you just paranoiac or is everyone out to get you?

Do you trust GCs to be unbiased? I dont.

Lets say for 10 years TCs have never been chosen although the singer was more talented than the GC entrants but a GC was yet again chosen what do we do? There has to be safeguards.

I believe your right on this Vp, and theres nothing I can say to convince otherwise. But you have a habbit of jumping on the racial card at every chance that you can find to throw a banana peel to contraversy.
So the question is do you really think the world will change their rules to every legal platform just to appease the Turks way of seeing things?

Without these sorts of safeguards it will be stalemate forever the only option remaining will be agreed partition for return of land. We cannot be expected to take that jump of faith knowing full well your tendencies to discriminate against TCs, we need safeguards and plenty of them to guarantee our effective say in the running of a united Cyprus as we do not trust you one iota and neither do you us.

With these sort of safegaurds which you are demanding and are undemocratic and favors the TC's you are asking for trouble again. If you do not like democracy just leave the country. I can move to a country like Saudi and earn lots of money if I wish.....I don't like their laws and habbits.....so I don't go.......and if I would try and I don't like it....there is 1 option.....move elsewhere

Then what you want to do is leave us at the mercy of GCs who are known universally for their racist viewpoint which will leave us out in the cold.

Address my concerns, you cannot say they are not realistic and ask for me to take a leap of faith into the arms of GCs. We just wont do it, Cyprus can stay divided forever.

Cyprus will be unified and you can leave whever you like if you don't like it. You are the one that does not accept human rights and equality for everybody. We are not living in the sixties and seventies anymore so your concerns are not mine concerns. I believe piece can and will exist on the island if you do not demand more then every other citizen on this island. Have a pleasant evening

The only ones leaving you out in the cold at the moment is the occupying forces. You need to sell stolen land open up casino's and brothels to survive and you are talking about mercy? How about you tell me where you live and when you're not home I move into your house and tell you to f*** off when you return home? You are trying to sell your partitionist story to justify the crimes comitted in the north at this moment. And don't come back with your ENOSIS shit and 1963.........people have moved on.....It's about time you and the sort of you do the same 8)
