EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

When there is a solution to the Cyprus problem, then maybe this can occur, provided that the Turkish Song is the best. Until then the TCs are welcome to enter the competition through the CYBC TV.

Not everything is political, as you two want to make it, just to justify your partition dreams. In Cyprus, if a Greek song is sung and it is understood by 800,000 GC's, and a Turkish song is sung and is understood by 200,000 TC's, which singer has the advantage of going forward to become the finalist. This is not a rocket science, so lets hear it from you two.

Now, if both the performers sung in English, they will both have equal number of listeners and the TC will have just as much chance of winning as the GC singer, because the best song will win. In any case, English is one of the official languages of Cyprus. Perhaps you two did not know that.!

I don't even like the whole concept of this event. Personally, I wished that every nation was forced to sing in their national language, but then again, Switzerland would have 4 languages and Cyprus would have 3, which would make it a problem.!

GCs would never choose a TC to represent them regardless of the language u fool. If singing in English and Greek were prohibited, they would never ever choose Turkish either.

I wonder if u ve ever met a GC in ur life. u r a second-class minority for them. Grow up and see the realities. Thank god majority isn't as blind as u. u ve turned into a GTC.

Did the GC's not invite the TC's to play football with them nationally and internationally, despite while we are still holding their land. Who refused so Far.?

If you have such negativity towards your fellow countrymen, why on earth is Talat negotiating a peace deal with them.? Why does he not ask for a partition by giving 50% of the north back to the south and then you can have complete control of the north to have any kind of life you want. But no, you will not do that, because you want to hold onto the land that does not belong to you. You people believe that the past cannot be forgiven and new beginning given a chance. You are all wrong of course, because all the countries that were on the wrong side of the WWI and WWII and other major conflicts in the world have put aside their differences and have moved on. Is there any reason why Cypriots cannot do the same.? Perhaps you just don't want to and that is your choice, but your choice so far has been a disaster for the TC's.

u r totally out of topic baby. the question is will GCs ever choose a song in Turkish which is an oficial language of the island or a TC singer who is an official citizen of the island to represent them in Eurovision. The answer is a big OXI.

How do you know?

coz u have an allergy to anything Turkish.
coz I know from experience.
coz you u think u r the only representatives of the island

To avoid GC domination, Eurovision representation should be rotating like in Belgium or Siwtzerland. Even Italian speaking community in Switzerland has the right to repsesent their country when it s their turn. I am sorry but u ll have to recognize the Turkish Cypriot TV in case of unification. :P

Why do you think you know GC's better than I do? What experience are you talking about? How old are you? We are the only representatives on this island at the moments because we are the legitimate govt of this island. After a solution what will be your excuse?

I've never heard of a rotating ESC representation in Belgium or in Suisse....could you please show me some proof of this as it is very interesting.

So far, the only songs I've heard sung in the ESC representing Switzerland has been in English. Besides, all 4 ethnic groups in Switzerland see themselves only as Swiss and nothing else. We Cypriots can learn something from them and stop trying to divide Cyprus along ethnic lines. This is the intent of the NeoPartitionist.

u r wrong as always my dear:

Switzerland competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Era stupendo" by Paolo Meneguzzi. Meneguzzi was chosen by the Swiss national broadcaster, SRG SSR idée suisse, 2008- italian

6 songs that were non English since 1994 according to your figures and only English since 2002.

I really do rest my case now.!

What is more interesting, that the Swiss Gemans being the majority at 69%, only had 1 song in German in 1998 and non since. Everyone knows, unless you sing in English, you do not stand too much chance winning this meaningless competition.!

Our question is not in which language "Cyprus" should sing. It's what shall be done to assure Turkish representation. Non-existence of GC good will makes rotation (like in other areas such as presidency etc.) an obligation.

That was totally understandable!!!!

I agree with Kikapu. who really gives a sh*t about the Eurovision Song Contest? Cyprus can be represented by a Chinese person for all most people care!

Its the principle that is the real issue here, even the Eurovision which you do not attach much importance to will be out of our reach because the majority say so. Thats why there has to a system that gives us a right if the GCs prove me right and never vote for a TC singer.

Don't worry viewpoint Talat will make sure Işın Karaca represents unified "Cyprus" not because GCs will choose her simply because TCs will be given the right.

Your always looking for an edge VP, not just a right. Your incubator is falling apart, and the time is coming near where you will stop praising yourself with your selfish way of thinking.

What do we do if the GCs never vote a TC singer? How can you expect us to take that leap of faith when we know the GCs and their mindset so well, look at this forum aprime example that proves me right time and time again.

What would you do if they do vote a TC singer if rightfully earned?
Would you turn in your grave if you were alive, or would you keep enticing a form of enosis?
