The mistake was yours in including him!

(Methinks you would have been better with Engels  )

Are you trying to explain that there is nothing supernatural here and that events in modern Turkey do not have an objective but rather we should look at a "mechanism" as described in the theory of evolution perhaps, with a pinch of Marx to begin to understand the historical and social phenomena along with a little bit of Freud, perhaps, to explain human behaviour that is brought about by influences that are not under the direct control of the person?

What is the evolutionary significance, and psychological behaviour, that drives the herd mentality to worshipping a long dead "Alpha" male, instead of seeking to appoint a new one?

He is probably trying to say that Ataturk’s bold head on a pillar resembles quite a bit to the image of a phallus that Freud had so much talked about.

I am not the one doing the acrobatics of trying to explain the backward nationalist ideology of the Turks through largely redundant Freudism.

Really, how about marxism? If you could understand a bit more what I was saying you would have realised that I was referring to the materialist and mechanistic explanations of human phenomena and these tools are the ones which are characteristically used and produced what we call western civilisation.

I saw that episode of The Simpsons, where Homer Simpson called the crew on a Turkish Freighter "Cyprus-Splitting Jerks!" I suppose there's another negative for you...
