The TCs are offered a chance to play international football by FIFA, UEFA and CFA and are once again ready to through this away. Let me guess what's next...TCs crying out about "embargos" and "isolation" imposed on them by GCs...
This is the same story that reiterates itself all the time... TCs politicians choose to ignore international organisations' views, be it FIFA, UEFA, IATA, EU, UN, WTO, you name it, and then go on moaning about their isolation which is in fact SELF-IMPOSED.

If you haven't noticed...There is a dispute going on and playing under the "RoC" is not conducive to our needs........We play under our own auspices or not at all........

Then quit bitching about being isolated.

You take away our rights in the CYPRUS REPUBLIC and then stop us playing anywhere at all and you say we isolated our selves...You funny guy Mr DT head man sir......We are not going to play under your illegal ticket mate so give t up.....

hey Halil! I think I found out why you can't play football.

Was it a secret :?

You would not even let us play a few friendlies you moron....

You are not a member of recognised organisation to be able to play you moron. UEFA didn't let you.

We had a team in full kit ready to play in the TRNC.....You stopped them at the last moment with your moaning not UEFA........And don't try to play stupid childish games....

You need to be a member of UEFA and subsequently FIFA. No membership, no game matey, sorry.

You are right......You need to return to the original Zurich agreement.....No agreement no homes...Sorry mate..

Oh I wouldn't worry about the homes. We'll get the land back one way or another. Its just a shame that the TC youth don't get to enjoy the same opportunities as sportsmen and women, or the same excitement as spectators by playing and viewing high standard sports being played in your backyard. All because you insist on playing politics with these things.

e.g Champions League, Commonwealth Games, International Games in Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball.....I remember we even had the pleasure of watching the Turkish handball national team against Cyprus over here about 15 years ago. I went to that game...got caned though.

In the same vein...We shall see who gets what...We are confident that common sense will prevail...The reason it has not so far...The TCS have not made enough noise....You have had it too good for too long.

Turkish Cypriots protest football ban
By Stefanos Evripidou

TURKISH Cypriot teachers union, KTOS, demonstrated yesterday against the decision by Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat “to prevent the opening of Turkish Cypriots to the world of football”.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the union protested alongside the Platform for Peace against Talat’s position that there was no way Turkish Cypriot teams could become part of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA).

The demonstrators kicked footballs in the direction of Talat’s offices, while holding placards reading: “Denktash=Embargo, Embargo=Isolation, Denktash=Talat”.

The union’s general secretary Sener Elcil said the aim of Turkish Cypriot football was to end the obstacles to playing football in the world arena. He added that Talat was putting political pressure on the clubs not to join the CFA.

Talat rejected the idea following an announcement by the CFA Chairman that the association had “accepted in principle” a final document presented by FIFA regarding the accession of Turkish Cypriot football clubs to the CFA. This, he said, would open the way for Turkish Cypriot teams to compete abroad.

Talat responded saying he might as well stop negotiating on the Cyprus problem if the move went ahead.

Unfortunately the island lost a great opportunity at achieving some normality.
The agreement stated clearly that this was in now way a precedent or a model for the political talks being carried out at the present.

IF the their "government" prevents them from signing doesn't that put them in an even worse position with the football governing bodies as FAs are supposed to be independent?

I seem to recall the CFA was in the sh*t about this not long ago.

How can they be in the shit if they're not a member of UEFA? You have stumbled upon something CBBB though, perhaps all this recognition business by the TC's is the wrong strategy for them, seems they'd be constantly getting into trouble with it. Turkey bullies talat, talat takes frustration out on supposedely indepedent sports association, indepedent sports associations receives heavy fine, association doesn't have money for the fine they go to talat.....talat asks from turkey the money for the fine......turkey bullies talat some more......etc

What a leadership!!

Why indeed is he 'negotiating'? What a plonker. He should leave the negotiations straight away.IMHO.
