At a guess, there's prob also a lot of support for the Agreement in the Free Areas as it stands.

... but not for Sertoglu if he's attempting to change the major provisions.

The Cypriot FA signed an agreement with Sertoglu after months of negotiations. Both sides have committed to implement the agreement. Sertoglu needs to stop pandering to the extremists and state clearly that he stands by his signature. Sertoglu loses credibility when he suggests the agreement is flawed and needs changing. It makes him look weak and untrustworthy. It sets a bad precedent if the TCs are seen to renege on commitments they have signed up to.

I don’t think it would help Sertoglu in the north if our politicians started to back him openly while your hardliners (which include Eroglu and Denktash) regard him as a traitor.

The sensible stance is to insist that all sides need to honour and work towards implementing the agreement.

Not within three hours of signing the agreement you bloody idiot! Otherwise why bother to sign it in the first place?

Of course, the TCs can tear up the deal, but you can then wave goodbye to lifting the sporting embargoes. Is that what you want, Lordo?

Have you forgotten already that not even Turkey would recognise the 'trnc' when the Mediterranean games were recently held in Turkey...?

You need to come to your senses, Lordo. Shooting yourself in the leg is not a good survival strategy.

Vordo doesn't know his arse from his elbow. On the other football unification thread he wanted the deal to happen because he thought it would put the GCs into a corner and we would reject it. Instead we have welcomed the deal and it is the TC hard liners who are hysterically denouncing the agreement as treason.

Now Vordo doesn't know which way to turn.

So please tell us, Vordo, since you claim to have read the deal, whether you support it? Or do you agree with Denktash Jr. that Sertoglu is a traitor who should resign?

Sertoglu has the support of the majority of TCs but his stance is not to pour petrol onto the fire as suggested by the GCs but remind people that the agreement with the consent GCs can be adjusted over time if found to be unworkable or unfair, it can even be cancelled altogether, so he has not really sold the TRNC out it still remains as is and our football teams are in tact, we can look forward to watching how the CFA will implement the agreement in front of the world it will serve as an example of how they would deal with an comprehensive agreement. So in reality now the south have a lot to prove and we have the opportunity for our youth and teams to play internationally. Can you imagine Cetinkaya beating Omonia and going to Europe as a Cypriot team....we look forward to seeing this do you? how will it make you GCs feel or will you do as you did in the past and manipulate the system to your own benefit? now in front of the EU.

Will Cetinkaya players then stand for the Cyprus National Anthem or will they walk off the pitch and will you as a fan sing along in the stands?

That reminds me of another agreement that needed adjusting and led to WWIII merely for suggesting change!

You guys are funny...

Beating any of the top 5-6 teams here will be hard because they mostly have foreign players. Do you have foreign players?
